Edited by Dragon: 6/17/2015 3:43:08 PMIt is what we get for a partnership between two conpanies. They have to split the profit.

I get what you're saying. They are definitely trying to make as much money as possible from the game, but ultimately they are a business and that is what businesses are supposed to do. If you figure I have paid $95 so far for the game and expansions, and have gotten about 457 hours of enjoyment out of my investment, that comes out to just about 20 cents an hour. Not too bad at all. For contrast, if you figure the average monthly cable bill is around $150 a month, and even if you manage to watch TV every day of the month for 6 hours (obviously most can not) you are averaging 80 cents an hour to watch TV. Now you tell me, which is the better value??

Edited by Profane_Layne: 6/17/2015 3:40:43 PMDo you know why companies make video games? To make money. Does it feel like we are getting shafted? Yeah a bit, but I've already gotten my money's worth from this game 10 times over. The bundle price is low to draw in new players. The taken king looks awesome, and I will buy it!
-
actually if you are correct about this i totally agree with you. i couldnt believe the last content was just old content backwards...n if their doing that again....its a total rip
-
1 ReplyI don't mind the price change, games lose value over time, and Destiny didn't exactly get the Best reviews, but what ticks me off is that they at selling the legendary edition for $80. I don't want destiny again, I've already bought it twice (360 and 1). I just want the stuff!
-
2 RepliesWell you are looking at it all wrong. First of all games get cheaper they always do, did you complain like this when borderlands handsome jack collection came out, or... you're an xbox guy did you complain when MCC came out or any remaster that sells cheaper than the game originally did, or even when you saw Halo 4 selling for more than 50% off down at your local game store? I am sure the answer is no so why would you expect this to be any different. Second of all the extra content is exclusive all be it timed and just because you think it is to much doesn't make it to much. On top of that you and I get the same amount of content per $, Sony just paid for me to get some of it earlier than you. So you aren't getting f'ed or ripped off or anything so get over it. If you don't want to play the game anymore than don't play it, but what's the point of your little tirade? It does nothing except invite a lot of hate your way.

Games cost less as they age. The tactics employed by Bungie to continue to bring in new blood is going to be good for you and the community in the long run. I don't have arguments for the reskinning and reuse of levels. We're definitely getting hamster wheeled on that one.
-
Looking at your hours played on destinytracker you're roughly paying .15 cents for every hour of entertainment Destiny has given you. Man they're gouging you! Not sure how you pay bills. #kappa

Edited by xLeGiT: 6/17/2015 3:32:10 PMIf you save a dollar a day from the day this salty post was written to when taken king comes out, you would have enough to buy the expansion
-
It's funny how so many of you people don't understand the concept of game value depreciation. Name one single game that doesn't drop drastically in price over a year.
-
You misspelled 'Activision'. It's not 'Bungie', its 'Activison'. Got it?
-
2 RepliesWho really gives a shit? Unless you're having a tough time financially, $40 isn't a lot of money, and if you're like the rest of the Destiny players here, you probably have hundreds or thousands of hours in this game, meaning you've likely gotten well worth your money from Destiny and the two current expansions. The new bundle tailored to new players is a good way to get them into the game and up to speed with what's been going on so they're not an entire year behind, and besides, with price drops and everything, the price is fairly reasonable. My only problem personally is how I can't get The Taken King along with the extra collector's items without also purchasing the full game and expansions I already own. Bungie needs to make a collector's edition with just TTK and extra items.
-
Your complaint is pointless. It's an expansion. Expansions cost money. It's only $40.00. When I was 12 I could make $40 in a couple hours from mowing lawns. So I'm not sure why it is a problem for you. If you save $3.00 a week for the next 14 weeks before it comes out you will have more than enough money.

Have fun with Halo 5, Guardian. We'll be here... well... squabbling. Are you going to be the type of poster that leaves cleanly, or do you plan to stick around a little longer to belittle us? I hope it's not the second option.
-
Just get no mans sky when it drops. Dont stress about destiny. The truth is that if players started dropping off then they would be forced to change thier tactics. So if you feel this passionate about it than for sure you should not buy any more content.
-
Not an insult or anything, but bungie doesn't organise prices or exclusives, all of that is Activision.
-
6 RepliesWant to know what the sad part is...... the Halo 5 trailers have more story than Destiny and its 3 DLCs have combined lol
-
I agree about the playstation content 😑
-
All I can say is this. When halo 5 comes out, I'm saying bye to destiny for a good long time. And after that? Fallout 4. Destiny won't see me for like 2 years lol. I love destiny but these other two games just have so much more potential. And I mean, who doesn't like free dlc? 343 is doing games right and is bringing gamers together and Bungie is kinda over charging for their content.
-
It's not Bungie it's Activision
-
6 RepliesStop being a baby back bich, $40 isn't shit to anybody that has a multi-hundred dollar console. It's not just an expansion its an expansion with more story and content then the whole first phase combined! If it really bothers you that much that people that are just starting the game get to pay $60 for everything while you paid a collective $135 for everything then just stop playing simple as that. Sure you pay $75 more but you're paying for the year of gameplay.
-
3 RepliesI completely agree. Money hungry greedy wankers. You'd be a mug to give them more money to stay on the grind train. It's the day 1 players who should be getting all the bonus content for putting up with all their bullshit.
-
Their true color: $Green$
-
You are only 99% right till till destiny came out its was Xbox getting everything first. But other then that you are right on. I mean are they going to drop the price of the first dlc now?
-
Some things I understand why you're angry, but why complain about the new subclasses?!
