I am a recent victim of homelessness. Before you judge me, I have been through a lot in my short lifetime. And although it is my fault that I am homeless, I am not a felon or a junkie, just a young man who lost his way.
I am hoping to find a kind-hearted guardian that is willing to spare their couch in exchange for help with your Destiny characters. I know it sounds silly, but video games are what I am best at and I really don't have much else to offer given my current situation.
I know this post may as well be on Craislist, but I have been involved in the Destiny community for some time now and figured it couldn't hurt to try. If you must hate on his thread, then so be it. But for those of you who have something positive to share, god bless you and may RNGesus be with you.
Until next time, game on guardians.
Edit 1: I am currently located in Southern California.
Edit 2: I truly was not expecting even the small amount of support I have received. Your guys words have touched me and made tonight's weather seem a little warmer than it really is.
Edit 3: Wow. Just wow. I truly was not expecting this immense amount of support and encouragement. For those who are doubting the truth to my circumstances, I don't blame you, the Internet is full of lies, but I cant understand why someone would lie about being homeless if they have a roof over their head? Unfortunately, my story remains true regardless of the hateful things a few of you have to say. With all that being said, I was born and raised in NorCal in a s town called Mountain View(Google was founded there!). I have worked customer service jobs since I was 16 and my ability to articulately communicate with people has gotten me everything I have in life. I've never been a desk and computer guy, but put me in a job with tons of co workers and I thrive like a well-tuned engine. It's hard to express my personality through the keys of this phone, but I truly am a genuine guy just trying to find his way. For those that disagree with my approach, I respect your opinion. It feels like my back is against the wall and it just felt like a good idea at the time of the post. And once again, I can't thank you guys enough. Anyone who left a comment full of words of encouragement, you rock. You guys will be part of my success story one day I can only hope. Until then though, game on guardians and hopefully I'll be able to do the same someday.
Edit 4: I understand part of this post may seem a little odd. At the time I posted, offering my help within the game of Destiny seemed like the best thing to offer. I thought, "the people of this community don't want their lawn mown, they want to make it to the lighthouse." Which is why I offered my services in Destiny rather than side jobs around the house. I realize it sounded bad but in all honesty it seemed like the best idea at the time.
Edit 5: I truly did not expect this thread to receive this amount of traffic. I understand that those who don't read the entire thread will probably count me off as a lost cause and for my poor execution, I completely understand that viewpoint. Regardless of the way some feel, I have been touched by the amount of extended support and encouragement I have received from this community. For those who are actually offended by my thread, I can't apologize for my unorthodox attempt at bettering my situation, because as I've said countless times now, it truly felt like a not-so-bad idea at the time. Thanks again guardians for your continued support. Best regards, Factor.

5 RepliesThis is going to sound heartless. But it needs to be said. First of all none of us know you, I personally nor anyone I know with any common sense would let s complete stranger stay in my house, and definitely not on the grounds of only being able to play video games. Life is hard, really this is the harshest lesson of all, but you should have thought of your future, savings etc. What concerns me more is that you have some family, who won't take you in, nor anybody you've met/known throughout your life. That is very worrying. Which makes me wonder what you as a person are like, I doubt you'll admit it, but maybe your aggressive? Or rude and anti social? I don't know. But I do know that to have zero friends and family willing to even lend a sofa to stay on for a few nights. Means people wouldn't trust you in their homes. Stop posting on a gaming forum, and go hand your CV into places to get a basic job.

And no offense but continuing to claim video games is all your good at and have to offer will only keep you repeating such a cycle and will be on and off again homeless, and yes you are a junkie clearly video games especially MMO variants are highly addictive especially to someone who has a addictive personality, put down the controller and go swing a hammer learn a useful trade of some sorts and be a contribution to society

Edited by Spartakos317: 6/20/2015 5:02:06 AMYou are homeless because you think somebody should pay you for sitting on your ass and playing games You are also the problem with America... get your head out of your ass, get a job, and stop being a little whiny punk ass. BTW before any of you bleeding heart liberal nerds starts raging against my insensitivity.... what would you say if he was wanting free exotic gear simply for completing a patrol mission?
