So week 3 of ToO and highest I got is 5 wins. Yes Im not that good and I try to but just cant "git good". Yes I played since day one, yes I do PvE and I'll do IB, but this is to much for me. I realized that ToO is not for everyone. Ill stick to PvE and IB. So congrats to you guys that went To the Lighthouse and that go flawless so many times. I just don't know how you guys do it, but more power to you. May Rngesus be with you.
PS: even though I know im not that good. I never backed out of the fight. Thats for all that got banned for backing out. I know ill prob lose but i still have my dignity.
* and yes I did get reckt, but ill tell you what You & Me fireteam, we do some patrols on the Moon.. man I'll out patrol you so hard you will rage quit. And yes I have done many flawless patrols, so be aware.
*** No complaining from me, not mad , upset or anything like that. Not mad at Bungie. I did enjoyed the ToO
in the little time that I have played it. But man oh man there are guys there that move fast, kill fast and win fast.
** Great comments on here. And thanks to the Pros that gave great tips.

"I'll out patrol you so hard" lol

5 is pretty good, better than most probably. My best is 2 or 3 wins I think, with mostly 0-3 passages. Xbox one

1 ReplyAt least you got the armor
-
First time doing trials we went 9-3 because we used the boon that subtracts a loss so it was 9-2 it was quite fun, I was just jacking around, and I got a few wrecking ball medals so I guess I am alright.
-
22 RepliesI respect your fight. If you want to go flawless in trials, add me, boombatza on ps4. Haven't lost yet in trials

1 ReplyToO "Elite" method: IP Boot. soooo i said -blam!- ToO with etheric light you can make cooler looking armor setups anyways. got the chest pieces and a helm so no need to ever play that shit again.
-
1 ReplyPs4 I got you bro
-
1 ReplyHey 5 is not bad. Stick around for the helmet then quit :)

there isn't much skill involved. this has turned into an Equipment game whoever has the Better Equipment is more likely to win skill or no skill

Edited by word2yermutha: 6/9/2015 4:45:09 PMYeah I hear ya man. What sucks the most is that the weapons you get from the lighthouse are actually damn good for PVP, therefore not only do the best PVP players make it there but they're rewarded with beastly PVP weapons so then they can be even more dominant in the crucible while all the other average PVP'ers don't even stand a chance at receiving those weapons. It would make a bit more sense to me if you just get 9 wins (flawless or not) to go to the lighthouse and open the chest. Plus, elements don't matter in PVP but the only way to get primary ToO weapons with elements is to go flawless. How does that even make sense. They only matter in PVE.

That patrol part tho. Lololo
-
1 Replyits not about getting good, its about cheese or be cheesed. they need to implement barebones weapons that all players have to use. then the real skills will have to come out.
-
All you need in ToO to be considered good, use the op thorn. Congratulations, you are the most skilled player ever!!!!

6 RepliesYou know, 5 wins is good enough for the armor. I have over 100 of these stupid passage coins and I'm not good enough to get 9-0, but who cares. I killed level 34s in IB using their messenger adepts with my 331 vanguard pest control. So f**k it. Just have fun. I would love to do ToO with players not obsessed with 9-0. Just have fun. 5 wins for the armor is good enough for me.

I'm in the same boat as the OP. The other members of my fire team have all been there each week. But when they try and run me through. We get elitist each round and get reckt from the start. It's fun in the beginning but after a round or two it's starts getting frustrating. We communicate and strategize. But I can not get to the light house. I doubt I'll try again. I'd rather put time into something that's more fun than getting blown out by MLG pros. Thanks bungie for alienating some of your more casual players from your game.

2 RepliesFellow Guardian, I second that notion. I have been Thorned to death more times than I can count. It is a very hard gameplay. I mean, myself included I just suck haha. But come at me Atheon or Crota and I'm ready. But ToO you guys are too good. Then there are those disrespectful douches that like to tea bag to throw it in ur face that you suck lol Jerks. But I would not mind tips and tricks to get better. I tend to flank and see where the enemy is and try to either sneak attack or run away as fast as possible so I could report. Or I just die and watch the red lines and report. I never expect to be carried I am just more of a scout. Any Blade Dancer tips?

Noooo how else will I get my easy win... Don't give up scrub and git gud

Though I'm a strong supporter of doing what you enjoy, I urge you to try trials again. Learn from mistakes and always adapt your strategy. Another tip I have is play to enjoy the fast paced white knuckle fight game play. The lighthouse is a goal but if you go in every time with the hope of getting there itl just be frustrating. So for me I tend to jump in and play and have fun. Win or lose and then once im warmed up or just ready to try I try for flawless. I feel like most people see it as a 9/0 or bust game mode rather then an elimination mode that can have some of the best firefights you'll ever be in. So try for flawless but don't get hung up on it!

The only reason i dont like it is because i have to completely change up my play style. Im use to being a lone wolf, running and gunning, getting in their face, and i usually do very well. But it feels quite the opposite in ToO and i just cant get use to it.

10 RepliesEdited by TuPoPz: 6/9/2015 3:18:52 PMAnyone looking to play trials this weekend add me. (Gamertag same as here) me and my buddy will help anyone that wants to go to the lighthouse. Edit: I'm on Xbox one

Don't say that you quit. Let's say wait for better days. I didn't play it this week because of IB and also because of my... ISP. Sunday I had smg like 7 disconnections in 3 hours. And I mean real, long ones, more than a minute to get back online. Since being expelled from the game means a defeat for my team and myself, I'll just wait for optic fiber. Until then... just keep at it !
