Now, first let's make one thing clear. Destiny is not dead.
However, Destiny has had little to no competition in the past year. But with each game release, a portion of the players quit, and a portion of that portion comes back.
In the next 6 months, we will see -
*CoD Black Ops 3: With confirmed Zombie mode and Rictofen.
*Fallout 4: With real open world gameplay and a successful franchise of RPG FPS mechanics actually done right.
*The Elder Scrolls Online: It'll steal die hard MMO lovers and fans of the series.
*Star Wars Battlefront 3: ENOUGH SAID
*Halo 5: A lot of players hyping about this one.
*Arkham Knight: A lot of people said I forgot it lol
These six games won't kill Destiny, but I have a feeling it'll take half its player base (30% of which will just play multiple games and come back occasionally), leaving behind die hard fans who can't break the addiction. What do you think Bungie? Can you handle the competition?
For those wondering why I'm insulting so many people for being idiots and trolls, there are two reasons.
Reason 1: I literally wrote in bold and underlined the fact that you can play several games all at once. Those who read the post noticed this and are awesome. Those that didn't read it are making fools of themselves lol
Reason 2: This beautiful insult generator is savage and too entertaining! Try it out!

I'm not gonna lie, splatoon took over my time from destiny It's a simple game, sure. However it's still a lot of fun.

Edited by NovaXIIV: 6/9/2015 2:51:42 PMThe batman game and fallout game will take some away, but only for a short amount of time because they are just single player games with a story that once you beat, you are done with the game. The others all have online so they may attract most of the attention

Why do people always assume that when new games come out that players stop playing destiny all together. Like why would you just focus on a single game at a time. See I don't always play destiny cause if I play too much of one game I grow tired of it I always play different games to keep it diverse. I love having options. But maybe that's just my cup of tea.

1 ReplyThe only games I'd get from those are battlefront and CoD if It isn't terrible like the last two

New games/old games with new content will always pull some of the player base away from Destiny or any game for a certain amount of time. This is nothing new nor is it something bad, it helps keep people from burning out on doing repetitive strikes, raids, crucible, etc. It does not, however, dictate that the same player base will not revisit those same aforementioned game modes at a later date if the player base enjoys the gameplay, has friends who still enjoy the game, etc. Destiny, IMO, is one of those games that you can do a lot in a week or very little, but still progress. It's not a time sink unless you make it one with your own agenda. I'll be playing ESO this week but will easily still be able to raid, do nightfalls, a few PoE, and some bounties here and there.

All games die over time just like people. Over time people move on to other games for various reasons. We all know this so I'm not sure why you felt the need to make a thread about one of the most obvious things in gaming.

maybe and maybe not. I'm enjoying HoW really due to hanging out with some online friends goofing off most of the time...

"Little to no competition" Ahahahahaha. Have you been living under a rock this past yet? Move on scrub. Find another forum to troll in.

5 RepliesI feel you are partly right with some people leaving for other games, but CoD has lost a huge fan base since Ghost. Treyarch has a huge mountain to climb to get the fan base back. I have no clue what the infatuation is with Zombies. It was the most repetitious and boring thing I have ever played. FallOut 3 was great but the combat system sucked. If they improve the combat on FallOut4, this game will be amazing! Elder Scrolls Online.......horrible PC reviews. PC is supposed to be better than consoles, so why do people feel the console version will be any better? This game is a Fail. Star Wars - Looks AMAZING. Not everyone will like to play a Star Wars game. Halo - You will have your followers and I will probably pick this up. I am getting worn out from Halo though. Batman - The last one was great. This will be even better. Still after beating the game, people will come back to Destiny.

People can play more than one game you know.

4 RepliesSuch a long story, i did not read it. If the game is dying stop play it and do something else and don't complain on a forum. This aint helping.
-
Lol.... I haven't heard this before.

I will whack you right in your rotting fur burger, you vomit-inducing bitch.
apparently
I think you have a point. HOW was good but again, nothing concrete. Hopefully taken king can fix outstanding issue and add at least 1-2 SOLID raids like vog. Destinys worst enemy is itself, withholding content for activisions greed. I know its business but its on dodgey ground

14 RepliesIf those people leave for other games, good riddance. If another game can make them just drop Destiny forever then they were never a fan of the game in the first place.
-
If CoD keeps the verticality of the booster/jet packs I'm out. Destiny has it in the multiplayer aspect but I think it's just done better. It feels less insane than AW feels.

Every game "dies" when its been out for a year (give or take few months). They dont die but people move on while the majority will stay because thats why they are still here in first place. No game ever really "dies" some 5-10 year old games still have thousands of people. Multi country games make millions and millions of gamers.
