I personally play as a warlock as my main but I cry just a little every time I see a hunter in my fireteam for raids or Prison of Elders. The main Issue I see with them is that they are inherently selfish subclasses. They can't create as many orbs, Bladedancers especially, as any other subclass and while they can domminate the crucible, invisibility is the only usefulness the can provide in endgame activities.
To make bladedancers wanted outside of diffusing mines they should create the proper amount of orbs per kill (They make about half as many orbs per kill as every other super) and make them immune to non-guardian melee damage while in bladedancer form so that they don't have to worry about dying easily to melee oriented enemies such as Bladedancer captains and vandals (the ones with swords and occasionally go invisible), Minotaurs, melee Knights, and the Cabal in General.
Gunslingers should be able to do precision damage with the golden gun to better take down Majors without emptying an entire super on 1. An exotic specifically designed for killing trash mobs would be nice. Make a terrestrial day bird (Opposite of celestial nighthawk) that has decreased damage per shot but many more shots.
Please excuse any mispellings, it's reset day which means this is just a really long Monday for me.
EDIT: After testing some testing with my gunslinger, I found that the golden gun does have a crit multiplier so my only real hunter related issue is the lack of usefulness of the bladedancer super in pve. I realize that Invisibility is great in the right circumstances but the super itself puts the player in way to much danger and doesn't spawn enough orbs.
EDIT 2: My issue is with the BLADEDANCER super. I realize nighthawk is a thing but because most hunters run bladedancer, I never get to see it. I'm not saying that hunters are bad/useless but the the bladedancer super is weak in terms of killing enemies in endgame content and spawning orbs. I realize that invisibility is a thing, but its not needed if everybody always has their super.

Man, hunters are fine in PoE, a bladedancer is fking awesome to dismantle mine when the team is under heavy fire and 1 seg kills example the arc burn hive round. Bladedance is not for damage is for utility. The gunslinger have the 1 shot hatred fueled golden gun that melt mayors is awesome, and if you wanna clear adds with golden gun use the symbiote + combustion + keyhole. Finally every class is usefull execpt striker titan and this is from someone that mains a titan.

MEEEEEEEEEDDDDIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCC!!!!!!

5 RepliesAsk for a nighthawk hunter. High intellect. One shotting all majors and taking 15-25% of ultras(bosses) health in one shot
-
They are for hiding and revive someone lol
-
That's because hunters arnt for raids. We are masters of the fronteer. #patrol4life
-
3 RepliesIf you cry when a Hunter joins your Fireteam than you clearly don't see the value of Hunters. I am mainly a Hunter and I am fluent in both subclasses as an ambassador would be with two languages and people invite me as we do literally everything together all as Hunters. Name one thing excluding PvP my team hasn't done as a bunch of Hunters
-
5 RepliesI routinely make 8 orbs with my gunslinger, so I'm not sure what the hell you're talking about. You just aren't playing with the right hunters.
-
I'm not commenting on this through experience since I don't do raids or high level PoE but I do find it funny how I see tons of posts about hunters saying "we're the best because we work alone. We're lone wolves and don't need warlocks or Titans. #masterrace" and here people are saying "hunters are necessary in teams. They have such 'n' such ability that makes them invaluable". It just tickles me so.

1 ReplyYou must be bad

6 RepliesGoing invisible with kelphi sting as a gunslinger save so ppl getting mines and rebives

Warlocks are the useless class in pve. They offer absolutely no utility. Only thing they can claim is blinding on self rez, IF they have purifier robes. That's only if they die, and I don't know about you, but I try not to die. I refuse to go into PoE without a hunter: Dismantle mines? allies can hide while hunter invis dismantles all 3 VIP? Nighthawk'd or stealth 4th horseman'd Titan's have multiple forms of blinding which is just too valuable for pve content. They're the best imo.

You need to stop playing with bad hunters. I'm usually the star of my team in poe. Invisibility to dismantle mines and revive teammates. Golden gun With nighthawk to one shot elimination targets. Acylophage symbiote or crest of alpha lupi and I become an orb machine. Mobility keeps me alive. The key to playing a hunter is to constantly adjust your subclass, perks, and weapons to fit the situation. Adapt or die, we're designed as an extremely versatile class and if you can't use that to your advantage you're going to be a terrible hunter.

13 RepliesLol. You lost me in the first sentence when you said you main a warlock
-
3 RepliesBladedancers r useful the invisibility r clutch when everyone is done and ur the last one
-
10 RepliesWth are u talking about I can get 8 orbs from my golden gun. Or have one extremely powerful shot that does massive damage. I can also go invisible and use golden gun now
-
Cant really make something useful if its useless... I mean what did you expect out of a class thats a wannabe batman who has to rely on a rocket launcher and invisibility?
-
9 RepliesYou get 9 orbs when killing two yellow bar knights with golden gun if wearing the correct chest piece. And you have a shot left over.
-
Ok dude
-
Bladedancer does need to make more orbs I agree on that. If I can make 8 orbs with Golden Gun I should be able to at least make 4-5 with BD.
-
Pretty sure my team yesterday of two titans and a hunter me being the hunter would never have completed Skolas if it wasn't for me clutching revives while invisible surrounded by nasty adds that otherwise would've butt -blam!-ed my corpse.
-
Blade dancer with dont touch me are really good in the prison of elders. Blade dancer is not there to create orbs he is a professional medic, eplosive ordanance diposal pro. You use vanish on your super , escape artist, crouchin invisibility with the dont touch me... now you want orbs use the gunslinger, but before you use golden gun make sure the mayors are at least at half life and use the helmet that gives you 4 shots. All characters have a sub class better than the other. Warlocks always go with radiance and the only time you see a void walker is in the crucible or a dumb patrol or bounty missions , the same with titans we all benefit from weapons armor or blessing... do you want to go to the level 34 or 35 prison of elders with a void walker a gun slinger and a striker titan??? I dont...

they are useful. maybe not their supers but they are very useful

Edited by Vaellyx: 6/3/2015 4:02:09 AMGunslinger = 4-8 orbs easily ( damage 1-2 yellow bars slightly then unload in em, or find a group and use overpenetration to your advantage to take down multiple at once) Bladedancer = pro invis revives + dismantling mines. Horde of enemies but spread out enough to mostly avoid a nova bomb or FoH? Kk lemme arc blade real fast. seems fair enough.

4 RepliesI agree that gunslingers should have precision kills, but bladedancer is by far the most powerful skill. If the encore skill is active, you can easily kill most of the enemies in a PoE wave. Plus the crucible as you said.
