Why no way to buy etheric light for PvE players like PvP players get with Iron Banner lvl 3?
Title says it all. I think it is completely unfair for PvP players to get the ability to buy etheric light when I as a PvE (PoE) only player does not. Any one else have a thought?

You get Etheric Light from doing hard horde modes. We get Etheric Light from grinding IB and winning. GG

3 RepliesYou get a guaranteed light for completing 34 and 35 PoE each week. Depending on your team this takes anywhere from 1-2 hours per week. Iron banner only comes once a month and you need to grind out to rank 3 and 5 and on top of that you have to pay 5k glimmer. Sorry but you get the better deal as PvE. You get up to 8 guaranteed lights for an investment in time of about 8 hours vs 2 guaranteed lights for 10k glimmer and about the same 8 hours.

Iron banner matches and bounties aren't that hard. You just need to go and do the work required.

1 ReplyI thought like you did. And then I said "screw it I'm going to grind out IB at least to rank 3 because I haven't gotten light yet." And you know what? I'm having a lot of fun with it." For players who don't regularly play PVP, control is a fun mode. Even if you aren't a master at chaining head shots and don't go 30-10 every match, you can still contribute. Capture points, throw lots of grenades, use a scout or pulse rifle to tag enemies and get lots of assists, follow a teammate and support whatever he does. There's lots to do and fun to be had in the IB. Maybe give it a shot. There's a lot more players like you in the IB than the MLG crowd.

PVP etheric light = ToO (inc. flawless) Possibility of 3 light per character every week. In both modes you are completing a series of events/challenges in order to obtain the light. It is fair. In Iron Banner all you have to do is rank up, so it is obtainable by anyone. All you have to do is put the time in. Plus Iron Banner is not always here so cannot be compared to PVE.

I am not big on PVP at all but do you realize how easy it is the get to rank 5 in Iron Banner? If you don't want to do Iron Banner you can still get up to 6 of the etheric light a week from POE.

As far as Im concerned, pvp and pve are both integral parts of the game. I can't fathom only playing one of the two. It's not as if you are excluded. If you want etheric light ,its waiting for you after a little grind. Cheers!

There are more ways for pve players to get it though. It can drop from NF, bounty chests, or PoE chests. And those options are available at all times, albeit limited by weekly reset.
