I really don't see the beneficial uses for blink strike aside from the perks associated with it. But what does blink strike actually do besides give a different melee animation?
If there is a range boost associated with the lunge it's honestly very slight and doesn't necessarily aid you in any way in particular.
I understand why hunters don't get a OHKO melee aside from backstab but because the radar will alert you to an enemy from a fair amount of range it almost makes backstabbing useless in PvP.
I just personally think that blink strike should at the very least teleport you behind an enemy (not proccing backstab) but just so there's some actual benefits with it.
Edit: let me clarify, I'm fully aware of the uses for pve. However this post is mainly referring to the pvp aspect of the game.

Blink strike was originally meant to teleport you through players but was changed during the development, in fact blink was supposed to carry over to the slide and instead make you warp as opposed to just sliding.

2 RepliesWell it used to be able to take you off the radar while invis, it extends the range of your melee and that's about it. Blink and invis generally is a waste in pvp
-
Blink strike adds range. Try knifing someone in PvP without it. You have to be very close.
-
It doubles the range of your melee.
-
Ask crota...

11 Replieswith the new exotic armor khepris sting you can make some nice alternative set ups on that sublass. and to melee from behind isnt that hard. invisibility takes you off the radar, so you could turn invisible blink strike a guy insta kill, turn back invisible and hit another guy. sure its not often you will pull it off, but if you are playing that subclass as an all out tank going toe to toe, then you are probably not going to be making the most out of it.
-
It has a longer range than the normal melee attack and it has some very useful perks.
-
Um crota.
-
So you can stike with a blink

1 ReplyEdited by girflush: 6/2/2015 8:43:00 AMVery very useful in Pve as a means to go invisible. Not just against Crota but anywhere. In pvp it's not as viable though I agree

6 RepliesYou obviously have never Used Backstab with Blink Strike in either PvE or PvP. On a funnier note, you obviously have never Blink Strike'd a Titan coming down at you in mid Fist of Havoc have you? The results are hilarious.
-
10 RepliesLol blink strike is nasty. Maybe you're just incapable of using a subclass to its full potential? Fast twitch - brings your blink back in less than 5 seconds Doubles your lunge, let's you do about 75% of their health, and has a fast recovery. 1 Thorn + blink = kill How is that not good?

Edited by so true bestie: 6/2/2015 9:04:50 AMSame question as to what storm fist does for a striker titan.
-
2 Replieswell blink strike is insta invis, very usefull in heavy fighting when you think your not gonna make it, just blink strike and go rest and recoup, no-one else gets that luxury. I even use it for reloading, when your trying to take down a boss and theres lots of adds around thats a good thing! lots of opportunitys to pop outof combat
-
Its funny when I get blinked by a hunter lol my feedback fences make them lose there invisablty
-
It's better now that there's an exotic perk that multiplies back stab damage. Also good for turning invisible in PvE.
-
6 RepliesInstructions on how to Hunter in PvP not understood. Dick caught in car door
-
Much harder to hit a blink strike hunter/lock than a double jumping/floating one...not a fan of blink but it does work well in pvp
-
1 ReplyThere is a slight range boost and quicker recovery like some one below said....it also seems to "track" more when it's charged as opposed to not
-
Range boost
-
It seems to lock on to the enemy.
-
2 RepliesIt has a significant range boost and also locks onto target. Also works if you're mid-jump. It also does more damage. Backstab works if you use crouch invisibility beforehand
-
1 ReplyIt gives more range boost for melee
-
think of it sort of like commando knife from call of duty lol
-
1 ReplyIt adds a teleport to the melee for added range. I imagine the teleport might add some I-Frames like the other teleports, but I haven't used Bladedancer nearly enough to say for sure. Otherwise the perks are more then enough.
