[I posted this in the "F osiris" thats trending now. I just want to make sure someone sees it as i feel its right on and they might "hide" my post.]
Edit: ...go to bottom if you "cant read a lot."
Here's why Osiris is BS imho:
1. It's freaking SKIRMISH!
Bungie took something WE ALREADY HAD and made it more irritating with a tally card and currancy. Haha, you guys at bungie! So clever! And then you made it a dlc we had to pay for! Ha!
2. Forcing a premade 3-man is tedious and keeps us from playing what we paid for, a new pvp experience. (Hilarious!)
Sure if our friends are available and we have time, we can play. Often though it splits our friends (and there friends) and we dont have time, so thanks for nothing. Ill be over here in normal pvp and IB with the group finder. Why'd I buy you again?
Additonally, forcing a premade team gets HC pvpers together more often, which makes the experience harder in general.
Top it off, only awarding consistancy instead of persistancy(IB for example), and if i dont have HC sponsored pvpers who actually played skirmish in the first place, Im gonna have a rough go... no thanks.
3. Overshield revs in Osiris ARE FREAKING RIDICULOUS. I cant tell you how many times Ive lost a game b/c i rush a ghost getting revived and instantly im staring at TWO OVERSHIELDS. Hows that remotely cool? Ive seen wins by teams that just juggled the rev OS! Not to mention this isn't halo.... wtf...
4. Osiris has single handedly made warlocks the most popular pvp class. That self revive is dumb, synergies with revive armor and the OS revs, omg, I have to stop thinking about how frustrating that actually is. F* Osiris.
5. If you wanna know what pvp weapons are best, just play Osiris. If you don't know, it's dominated by... *fanfare* ...Thorn. Then Vex Mytho, Red Death, and TLW.
6. 5 wins is too much. What cant be determined at least best outta 3, that 5 wins doesnt do? 9 w's is 45 match wins.... FORTY FIVE. NO. Just no.
7. Last but not least, you guys allow players to buy another tally card to rejoin osiris? OMG thats BS. It's hard enough without allowing VERY successful teams to troll the teams who may never see the lighthouse.
....i will probably never see the LH as Osiris stands now. That sucks. I want my money back. This DLC blows and has little value to me since a good portion of it is unplayable to me as a pvper.
Trolls: im mediocre at best in pvp. But i love it. Osiris pvp? F* Osiris....
Edit: osiris blows. Wk 2. Still inaccessible loot. Thanks for selling me an experience ill never have.
Edit: Im not sure what everyone doesnt get or understand in what im saying here or where it says i want a hand out, etc., i like pvp, im mediocre at 1.2 between 3 chars., but osiris is just silly.
So i have simplified my points for you "too long;didnt readers" and the insult trolls defending how silly osiris is.
Rehash simplified:
Game mechanics are silly broken and trivially hard.
Lose the tally card. (But I might compromise on keeping the tally card for LH purposes only.)
Players should be done with Trials when they reach the LH.
Its not elimination because of revives.
Its skirmish and we already have that.
Its accessible but more tedious.
Warlocks have a distinct advantage.
Overshield classes have a distinct advantage.
Overshield juggles are silly and benefit the losing team.
45 games is too much, 3 of 5 max.
I wanted my money back because theres gear and an area in the game a lot of people paid for, but will never access for silly mechanics, albeit fictitious and inconsequential...
the lighthouse
Edit:
**update**
I still hate osiris.... also...
Im not about complaint w/o offering a fix:
adding more game types to osiris would be a good idea for those whom hate skirmish. or "elimination". Or whatever you're calling.
Take away losses for peeps who just want the normal weekly gear, and keep losses for those who want to get "elite gear" to the LH. But...
Kick Peeps who have seen the LH for the wk, just like wklys, dlys, and raid are done.
....so there. This seems fair. Some suggested resolutions bungie. :)
Why in hell u want to go to lighthouse expect the messenger which is a fantastic PvP weapon the rest of weapon are not needed or u never use same goes for the armour once the new dlc is out it will become useless..why waste time playing too when u can play normal PvP and have fun..u crying about some weapons u going to discard lol..I never brought destiny for PvP but it seems if u want fun play normal PvP not too or poe for weapons u don't need lol..and as for the messenger it is on sale for sure anyone can do 3 wins if u can't I feel sorry for u lol

I agree with people should be done with trials when the reach the lighthouse or at least need one person in their fire team who hasn't been to play. There is a few nice people who carry others through

What a scrubby post by an absoloute scrub who is mad bcuz bad .

3 RepliesYou are the problem with America today. You just expect that even though you are straight garbage at PvP you should get a free passto the lighthouse. Why don't we let everyone just become a doctor because they got straight C's in college. NO. This is not how the world works. If you are not good enough to make it, than thats that. You just aren't good enough. Practice improve and come back next week.
-
Shut up and practice. Almost every game you buy is exactly the same in regards to unlocking content. You have to learn the rules and get good. Say you buy Final Fantasy X and you can't get to Sin because you are stuck on a boss that casts death on everybody and you lose everytime. Are you going to go complain to Square Enix that they should make alternate wins so you can get to Sin? No, that's ridiculous, you go and find a way to beat the boss you are stuck on. For example, you go back to a store and buy accessories that make you immune to death. Now you can beat that boss that has been holding you back. It's the same thing with Destiny. Can't get to the Lighthouse? Learn what is holding you back and find a method of overcoming it. Watch the battle field, learn what others are doing.

Bro different strategies then skirmish. Probably why u suck.

sodium levels are high in this one

5 RepliesI think the only good point made here is that teams that go flawless should be prohibited from re-entering again.
-
So you don't like ToO because you can't get to the Lighthouse? Just keep trying man. And did you really think it wouldn't be dominated by Thorn, TLW, and Mytho? My friends and I like to call it "The Last Thorn of Mythoclast". It sucks, but they are the best at PvP right now. I do agree with you though, best of 9 instead of best of 5 is pretty stupid for each game, burst the the same time those extra rounds prove to be helpful for comebacks. (0-4 to win 5-4 two separate times.)

1 ReplyI don't know about you, but I've had an absolute blast playing Trials, especially on the latest map. Trials makes you really think about your encounters, what weapons to pick based on engagement ranges, and rewards good communication. I've gone up against sunsingers, hand cannon users, last round snipers, etc. It all boils down to how well you and your team synergize and handle situations. Sunsinger? Have your titan guard the body with their smash ready, or keep a safe distance and prepare to focus them down. Handcannons? Lead them into areas where their advantage at range no longer applies. Final round snipers? Uhh...die in a place that's easy to get revived at I dunno they're actually pretty bullshit but at least they won't have much ammo if you can take them out before special spawns. Probably the only thing that actually angered me was dealing with final round snipers on mars, but that's just crucible shenanigans in general. I used thorn my first week of trials, I've quickly switched to my messenger. Thing just does amazing damage at all ranges. My exotic of choice this week was actually patience and time. It actually wasn't particularly useful for it's exotic features, in fact the invisibility actually made it harder to see through the fog of widow's court, but it just felt super crisp as a sniper so I'd just cancel the invis with a quick re-scope. The amazing sound of firing the thing coupled with the nice scope range made it feel extra nice scoring head shots across the map. With heavy I switched it up depending on map. Wide open map? Time for your favorite HMG. Bit more confined areas? Your trusty launcher should do the job. So you really don't have to use the cookie cutter "bullshit weapons" to win, anything you feel comfortable using will aid you a lot better than the most powerful hand cannon when you're not used to the recoil. And winning trials makes you feel like you actually accomplished and earned something when you reach the lighthouse. Each win is exhilarating, and each loss devastating. That's just what I expect out of competitive play, and I wouldn't change a thing. If you're not doing that well, try matching up with other players, maybe you'll connect with them a lot better. If it's your personal skills getting in the way, then just throw yourself at the crucible until you feel you've trained enough. Learn the map of the week, watch your positioning and cover. Find the best routes of assault and retreat and always make sure to call out enemy positioning. Also, never ever lose your cool. If you get angry and start raging about, you're more prone to mistakes. So what if the guy who killed you dances on your body/teabags/etc, just teach him a lesson by regrouping, figuring out his team's strategy and sending him back to orbit with a dreaded red mark on his card. Soon enough you'll find yourself in the most coveted social space available, racing your friends to see who will open the chest first.

....Bungie is in a bind, but how do you cater to lag cheats and folks who can only be defeated by The Sword of a Thousand Truths?
-
2 RepliesYou make some good points when addressing mechanics and the unfairness of having to purchase crap that was already on disc. But half your argument is basically you complaining that you're too bad at pvp vmto win a match of ToO. Putting HC gamers against each other more often was the whole point. It's supposed to be be harder. Get better. The game is a disappointment as a whole, no disputing that. However, ToO is actually one of the only serious steps in competitive gaming in Destiny.
-
10 RepliesGotta agree. To those saying "it's like buying a game and expecting it to be beaten for you". It's not. It loses that similarity as soon as other player are added. "Well you bought it, doesn't entitle you to what's in it". Well thats debatable. If you bought the season pass way back when destiny launched, you had no knowledge that you were paying for a mode that requires you to be better than other players. So it really is a waste of money for those that aren't great at pvp. ToO should have been a free update like the reef, then it's current state could be justified. But making you buy it, then pitting you against players that are better than you, isn't a fun experience, let alone an experience worth paying for. So it either needs to be free and stay the way it is, or paid content not focused on endgame gear that requires you to be in the top 20% of players. I do agree with kicking people out once they've gotten to the lighthouse. As at that point those players are simply looking to ruin others' game experience.

I see where you're coming from, and I disagree vehemently. I'm a pretty bad pvp player but I don't want anything handed to me. I want the sweet taste of victory from beating it fair and square against the same good teams everyone else has to face. If teams were banished for the week after getting to the lighthouse then everybody would wait until Sunday or Monday anyway. Last night my card was at 7-0 and I still had the 2 for one. But we got our asses whooped and honestly we deserved it. They were that good. I know I'll get there soon and it'll be so rewarding. To me you're ideas sound like the kids who want zur to sell gjally. You'll never know the sweet joy of seeing it drop, and that's the whole point.

4 RepliesYour just trash

1 ReplyYou want to f*ck Osiris? That's... Odd... Also, I think he's taken. She's My No Life has had a lot of masturbation sections during advertisements.

I love the elimination game mode and trials of Osiris in general. The people I meet are usually fun to talk to, the games are a ton of fun, and it's competitive
