Destiny is getting dull.
Been playing this game since beta. Basically did everything required for the week so it's a good grind... Use to be fun with 1 or two raids. To be honest this DLC is too much for people who have been playing as long as I have. This DLC is just turning into a grind solely to get etheric light. The old way it worked was better where you had to work for the new gear by raiding or iron banner. It was small so it wasn't crazy.. Upgrades are nice and all but I need so much. I've gotten around 30 light and I still need 20 or so more.
This DLC just turned into a grind to upgrade everything. 3 hours to finish all 3 prisons on one character. 3 hours to get my 8 or 9 wins in trials. 6 hours a week per character.. I'm grinding 18 hours a week or more just for 12 light.
I miss the way the game has to play where you earned gear and guns. This is too easy.. And the gear you know in love needs this material that I just need so much of. I'm just tired of this grind again.
Prison and Trials are fun.. But it's just back to a grind so soon already. I was okay without a raid. But now, I'm not. These 2 Modes are so dull because it's just.. Too easy. Too easy to get to 34, too easy to max all my guns. I miss when this game was a challenge.
Destiny is going to be losing lots of there long time players to this DLC. I was hopeful, but it's just another boring grind. I for one who has played almost everyday, will probably stop playing regularly in a week or two.

Edit: not every day btw. Just most days and I get every important thing done in the week. I have a life somewhat haha
Edit 2: Shout out to people who think I'm whining. You just make yourself look bad. Moral of the story, this game is great, DLC is fine and fun. It's just another long grind that crota was and VoG was. And I for one am tired of it.

I don't find it easy I find the grind both worth the time investment. The rewards are not worth the effort of grinding keys and Poe. I really loved the raids. Poe can't have 6 guardians due to the volume of bad guys we are to fight. Modifiers that are useless or stacked against the guardians. Primary burn doesn't do shit to take down anything but lower level ads. Things like trickle that slows your super etc. just not really appreciating the cheap way bungee has made it difficult. Instead of strategy it's just more and harder bad guys

Take a break. I had 3 months off when my 2nd son was born, deffo stopped the rot. I'll probably ease off playing once Elite Dangerous comes out too! Destiny is fun, huge fun for those who enjoy this style of game, but its been out a good old while now. Getting near 9 months! Maybe its worth giving your guardian(s) a little holiday eh? ;)

I like the whole etheric light idea for old gear and weapons... Shit the new gear system ain't bad... But the fact that almost all weapons you get are 331 and U need this very hard to get etheric light to upgrade blows my mind... Almost makes the new weapons not even fun to get. Before getting a legendary was a nice little suprise now it's like well this gun could be good but I'll prob never get it to 365 becUse you know i have 100 other weapons to upgrade

I had to accept the fact that I wasn't going to be able to complete every single reward drop event on all 3 characters. Also accepted the fact that I won't be able to get all 3 gear and each weapon that variks and brother Vance sells. It will be fun taking the whole time from when HoW dropped to comet to earn all the stuff that is being offered.

Maybe you are just burned out? I know players that have hit the ground running as soon as dlc dropped and played non stop to reach 34. Now they're getting tired of it. I personally have been taking it easy and I still enjoy playing even now (beta player)

3 RepliesI've played since beta. I have like 170 raid completions, and all exotics prior to HoW. Played the shit out this game, and felt the way you felt before lol.. I think you're just burnt out. Take a break for a week or two. You'll either be super excited to get back into it like I was or you'll just forget about it and move on. Warning: X rated version [spoiler]Destiny is like sex. The week before HoW came out you were hella horny and couldn't wait to get it on. When HoW finally dropped its panties, you went hard and kept grinding hard until you maxed out all chars and did everything there was to do, after that you fired your shot package and are now exhausted. Now you want to keep going but you shouldn't, it's unhealthy and you might hurt yourself. Your destiny juices are depleted. You just need a little break to replenish them [/spoiler]

The only thing remotely exciting now is trials of Osiris, but even that'll get boring once we get all the gear (2 more weeks)

I'm starting my break from Destiny tomorrow after I buy the Witcher. It will be very hard to not run the reset activities though.

No I don't have the DLC, but I couldn't justify buying it. I don't care for crucible enough to want more maps, and PoE is just a horde mode. So in just 2 weeks of playing destiny I'm bored, again. The lack of story in this game, a game that has such potential to have a good story, is still so damn disappointing. Oh well. I'll just buy rogue legacy until I can get the witcher.

1 ReplyI stopped reading at "played everyday" no shit it would get boring. You run through all the content all the time 24/7.. Take a break. Do something else. There is still plenty left for me to do with Destiny because I only play a few times a week if I'm lucky.
