We all know you can pick up a chest up-to ~6 times before the ether key countdown ends.
However what do you think of this farming method?
Do you think Bungie should fix this?
Do you think Bungie should ban those undertaking this practice?
Or do you think Bungie should leave it as it is?
Note - Looks like the response has been quite varied with lots of tears to collect lol

This entire game is an exploit.. its what makes it fun.. but trials is what I'm hyped about tbh..

3 RepliesAnyone get any keys after the patch?
-
6 RepliesIt's the first time in a long time where patrol has been busy. It's fun being on there waiting for an even with total strangers having a dance off on a roof. It's brought the fun back to patrol
-
1 ReplyThey are two people in this world. Those who used the chest farming exploit. And those who are liars that say "I don't do it".
-
1 ReplySeeing as DeeJ made a post pretty much saying they have already had a chance to take it out and are not at this time, and have previously stated they would not ban for things like this or the loot cave, or cheeses in raids......... no I don't think now is the time to start. Honestly, the drop rate is not THAT much better than roc strikes, and it takes only a little less time. Besides, it actually makes patrol fun now. It's social, and going to another area and back is almost like sparrow racing. This is one of the best things to hit Patrol (or even the game) since launch

1 ReplyEdited by BigBuddhaBoss: 5/18/2015 5:09:04 PMPatrol is fun again. This is the first time the social aspect of Destiny has been alive ever since the Loot Cave was patched in the days of old. This game has been very antisocial, with the only minimal interaction coming from LFG groups that you probably only play with once and probably never talk to again. These chests are bringing people together. Just imagine it; you and two others are farming these chests, get a few keys and become friends. Prison of Elders comes around, and boom, you have a Fireteam of people you know and have previously played with. What's not to like about it? I assume that a lot of people, myself included, haven't had this much fun in Patrol since, again, the Loot Cave days. It's ironic how this House of Wolves prelude has been the most enjoyable experience of The Dark Below.

9 RepliesUpto 6 times?!? Does your sparrow have a warp drive?
-
Don't kid yourself. Enough of us are doing it that they would have almost no player base left. They can't . There is no "should" for them
-
1 ReplyNo, simply because its not "unfair". You too can exploit it if you wish and its not really hurting anyone. Add that each planet with a bounty feels like the game should all the time. How many guardians did you see on patrol at any time before this. People are actually helping one another farm, the game is social on a planet level, I think this is a good thing. And no, I haven't been able to farm. I have been limited and just hit my bounty and go. Leave them alone.
-
Up to 6? I want whatever sparrow you have. This glitch has been in the game forever. I also think it will be much easier to gets keys once HOW drops so people Farming keys might get a little head start but nothing game breaking.
-
nah, soon that will probably be fixed like they did the loot caves.
-
They will be banning over 50% of the community, including people they invited to play HoW
-
8 RepliesShould bungie ban people who make unnecessary posts?
-
Lol no
-
They cant ban people that exploit a glitch, only hackers
-
-
5 RepliesSkywatch is now the funnest thing to do in the game, so no.. If only I wasn't in engram hell
-
-
if they did, they would ban almost everyone that plays the game. its their glitch and its getting exploited. its not like ppl are modding or tampering with the game
-
Not believing for a second bungie didn't know this would happen, you've been able to do this for a while it's just worth it now! Who played patrol before this? Very few. Now it's buzzing with guardians, how patrol should be with the volume of players there is, it will lose its appeal soon enough so jump on the wagon while it's still fun!

You do know that this farming via zoning has been around since alpha / beta. Most famous was Rust yard to Divide and back.. Just saying it's been a part of the game mechanic since 'day one' and there are lot more critical items that needs to be addressed than worrying about players "farming". If it bothers you so much - then don't participate. Reap the rewards from the ether chest once and only once and move on.

*reads post* Fúck this, I'm going back to 3D pinball on the computer

Edited by Pray: 5/18/2015 6:59:19 PMThey need to earn their chest opens one at a time!! Yeah, right. Let's ban people for farming in a game that's all about grinding.
My rate so far is one key for every 70 blue engrams and countless special synths and Spirit Bloom. At least it's more engaging than the old firing squad days of the loot cave.
It's not cheating. We are playing with the rules and game mechanics set by Bungie. You have to put in hours and hours of gameplay just for a chance that maybe you will get a key. It's seems that Bungie should love this. They've gotten us to spend even more time playing their game. And the hype for the new dlc is so huge right now. This is a super win for Bungie.

1 ReplyHow is something that a game allows you to do possibly considered cheating
-
It's in the game. They can't ban you for it. It's not like actual cheating. Anyone can do it.
