When did a bunch of fgts screaming into a mic turn into good music? I swear, I can't find any good new music. Just a bunch of little bitches thinking they're good.
I guess I'll just have to keep listening to old stuff:-/

1 ReplyIf you like in flames try, dillinger escape plan, killer be killed (roadrunner superband), sabaton, Devin Townsend project, Billy talent 1, 2 and 3, atreyu. They are my best reccomendations, u won't be disappointed

Sabaton are epic too prob best I've heard in a long time. Also amon amarth, avenged sevenfold, disturbed. But Sabaton and the Devin Townsend project are epic. Deathclock are good too and they made a cartoon series (Metalocalypse), pretty funny. Otherwise look up soundwave set lists from the past that is a metal oriented festival. Saw of mice and men in Sydney and they were awesome.

If the music is good, I dont really care for tone. And by good music, I dont just mean melody. I also listen for stuff like polyrhythms, disregard for key, unusual time sigs (the start of Foo Fighters 'Times Like These' is in 5/4, love that) and general breaking of the normal 'rules' of music. Also, for some reason I've always been drawn to seething, cathartic dissonance. *shrugs*

6 RepliesSounds like you're ready to go to the Classic Rock station. I did. Not all new stuff sucks. Just most of it. But there are a few cool new songs every now and then.
