Honestly I would say no. I love raids, but destiny in general is not a hard game. What do you think?

Unless you are being carried then it is advisable that you first unlock rl perks: - patience - listening And to be on the safe side make sure you have a stack of at least 60: - minutes
-
Lol, try BattleBlock Theatre on Insane mod. It's not even the hardest thing but way harder than Destiny.
-
They're like everything else. Practice makes perfect.
-
2 RepliesTo do it well, yes...left side for life bitches...real guardians always go left
-
Have you done Templar on hard... try doing that with half of your fireteam being incompetent
-
It takes skill in the sense that the guy carrying the whole team is putting in work making sure the team completes the objective. Doesn't necessarily mean 1 guy doing all the work but it's much easier when you have multiple ppl doing things like: -helping out teammates who lag behind on abyss instead of dipping out on them. "I can solo the lamps easy, just wait here" <-this person is horrible if he can't reach the end without helping the team -reaching the top of the tower and or going across w.o the bridge first try. If you can do both you the real mvp -being a good swordbearer (I've seen so many try and fail after claiming they have done it plenty of times) -most importantly doing all the little things to make sure the raid goes well (not really skill but a much appreciated job) Ex. Stunning the boomers when ppl are coming out Generating orbs in ogre room Surviving Ir Yut battle while contributing Helping with Venus Minotaur Etc
-
Skill doesn't determine success in a raid. Only a well knit, intelligent team. Experience is a huge commodity when replaying too.

Edited by Gunslinger: 5/15/2015 5:09:37 PMThey require know how and team work. Yes, they require some amount of skill. You don't have to be a Destiny Pro though. I believe it takes more skill to do VoG.

16 RepliesEdited by Enclose: 5/15/2015 4:28:35 PMThose who said no are the people who Don't take sword or relic Don't help with the Venus Minotaur Don't help kill sword bearer Get carried Can't defend the left confluxes by themselves Can't solo either portal or has attempted to Jump on rocks at the abyss Cheese the bridge Do middle strat for normal Crota In other words you guys who said no, you either get carried by players with skill, or when the jobs divide like in the Templar fight and Crota you're too scared to take the relic because "I have a gjally" Of course being a ledge monkey doesn't require skill, all you do is fire when I tell you to, you're my bitch.
-
It's helpful if you are skilled enough to not die.
-
All you need is the ability to follow directions and patience
-
To dominate them and not just survive yes it takes skill
-
Beyond knowing what to do, there isn't really any skill outside of swordbearing. And for that, only one person needs to be able to do it.
-
Yes and no Yes because sword and aegis take some practice No because bungie has to keep things easy enough for unskilled, under guned, uncoordinated groups to complete. Also because some -blam!-ers have soloed this shit haha

Edited by Creasey: 5/15/2015 4:46:29 PMThe current raid as a whole doesn't really take too much skill, just common sense. I mean, it really depends on the type of skill. Do you mean accuracy of shots? Then of course it does. Do you mean leadership skills as a raid leader? Of course it does. I'd say VoG requires much more skill in terms of teamwork and communication than Crota does though.

I think a lot of people are confusing the word "skill" with "experience"

1 ReplyRunning sword and relic takes skill imo

1 ReplyEdited by An Oracle: 5/15/2015 4:37:59 PMWalking is a skill. Using two hands to successfully to work a controller so that you can play a video game is a skill. Doing any video game content takes skill. Try handing your controller to someone who has never used electronics before and see how they do. Point is, successfully running a raid does take a substantial amount of skill.
-
They require a decent amount of communication and skill. You don't have to be a god at the game but to effectively complete a raid you do have to know how to play.
-
The first 3 weeks...yes Then later you are either appropriately leveled, cheesing, or it just became way easier. Usually all 3

2 RepliesEdited by J1bber: 5/15/2015 4:34:03 PMYeah.. so you are asking everyone after they did the raids like 100 times and even then their first time was probably with guys who already went through and knew the strategies... If you asked them during the first few times they did whichever raid, it would be a different answer.
-
Absolutely, if I'm not with my normal raid team (or at least a majority of them) then the struggle is real. Just think how many failed hard mode Crotas you might've been in when people get pissed and you can't finish after 1.5+ hours. Crota is not hard, and yet...
-
For 5/6 players, no. For Crota: you need one guy to be good enough to solo the lamps, one guy who knows what to do at the bridge (and can either self-rez or get on top of the tower), one guy who can solo the Deathsinger (or at least on average be good enough to kill her and have your one experienced guy survive), and one guy who's a badass swordbearer while everyone else just shoots rockets. For VoG: you need one badass relic holder, and everyone else just needs to know how to point the business end of the gun towards the bad guys. They don't need a large amount of skill for most of the team, but the guy anchoring it really does need to know what's up or you're in for a lot of fails.
-
2 RepliesNo not too much. Most of it is strategy and intelligence.
-
Yes they require skill. A good bit of it too. Going in blind without knowing is tough. Of course after you practice them a few times they get easier and easier.
-
You need to know strategies
