This is just broken.
Edit: To everyone claiming I have bad connection:

3 Replieslooks to me like you also had an awful connection.... tell me is it fun being bullet proof and then complaining about it when others are too?
-
I get shit like that all the time, usually half of the players in any given lobby are red barring and sponging bullets because of it, but it's not an issue with lag compensation. Matchmaking is broken, that is the root cause of the problem, removing lag compensation would only make things worse. It is needed because otherwise you would have to lead your shots. If they keep matching you up with lagging players, even the almighty dedicated servers that some people demand will not fix a damn thing.

1 ReplyWelcome to destiny Coincidentally that is what bungie also says to lagswitchers
-
Imo; I think those with bad connections shouldn't be allowed to pvp. It's becoming a real pain with people lag, and now with modded lag switches being sold I'm afraid for the future of gaming.
-
4 RepliesWhat bothers me is that they came out and said that Trials is going to be connection based. WHY THE HELL ISN'T ALL OF CRUCIBLE LIKE THAT!?
-
5 RepliesI hope they have a plan for Trials of Osiris. Because that shit happens to much. With trials if your connection drops below a certain point you should be booted. That would get rid of bad connections and lag switchers.
-
Lag switch everywhereeeeee
-
I am reporting those type of guys EVERY TIME. I dont know if they are cheating or not. Let bungie sort them out.
-
Every single crucible game there's at least one player that's invincible due to latency. This needs to be fixed ASAP
-
Bungee should drop bucks and invest in dedicated servers. Lag is weak😜👎

1 ReplyIt's like they said "Halo was one of the best console shooters in history"..."what can we do to take a giant step backwards"
-
My PvP games every -blam!-ing game.

Never in a game before have I been punished so severely for the connection problems of not only myself, but of other players as well. My internet speed is decent, but I live in an area where I don't get the best service. If someone in my household gets on Netflix while I'm playing Destiny, I notice it immediately. The game becomes downright unplayable at certain points and I just have to turn it off and play some other time. I really wish that Bungie and Activision had put dedicated servers into Destiny, this whole host BS is getting old. They had the budget to do it, Destiny was one of the most expensive games to create in recent years, I just don't get why we can't have nice things after shelling out so much money for an unfinished product.

Bump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Some people don't see a problem. I also think some have figured out how to make themselves that way. It pisses me off to no end to super a player shoot them and malee them and still they kill you. What I have notice us opponents not showing on my radar. They appear out of no where.
-
I have experience tons of this.... on my ps3... but I swear on everything I have not yet at all experienced this on my ps4. I really really feel like there's more switching than actual lag. But that's just me

Edited by The 7th fall: 5/12/2015 8:08:18 PMWhat did PvP in for me was when I somehow missed 4 Golden Gun shots on a Titan camp sniping, AND even knifed him... to only get a swift 360 headshot to the face and a t-bagging -seriously not kidding about that-. Either Bungie and Activision put some money into dedicated servers, or PvP will be non existent by September 10th. I'm glad I got my platinum trophy for Destiny before PvP went to sh*t, this'll be a rare platinum soon just like MAG.

3 RepliesAgree, I have a 60 meg connection. Plenty to run the game, yet I see players glitching across the map, I get a kill shot, then die as I am running away from the player I just took down and the list could go on. Thinking of going with a new isp so I can have a crap connection and be rewarded for it.
-
4 RepliesThat lag is absolute bullshit and bunglevision wonders why people only spend 15% of their time in crucible here is their answer the morons
-
6 RepliesDoesn't ever happen to me so it's your connection
-
Its not a "lag" ... ITS A FEATURE!
-
It's not lag comp but the over all netcode and the system Bungie uses for match making. Lag comp would remove the problems you see here.
-
If I recorded some of my matches, I would have better examples, this is a mix of good and bad examples :P
-
22 RepliesAll I have to say is, get a better connection. I never get lag and I'm not one of the people who go around using lag to win.
-
P2P I believe , is the main culprit, it would be best, I think, to have dedicated servers for PvP. I'm curious how the "better matchmaking" will pan out for ToO.....

7 RepliesThe first problem is Activision servers (aka Call of Duty Severs) They rely one the host with the best connect rather than having dedicated servers, expect the main server. The problem is if one suffers a bad connect, everyone does. How do I know? Check your connection under friends/players, and see the bars. The constant connecting to destiny servers is the sync with everyone, if one fails, the people with average connects may be affected as well.
