You, along with fans of games like Evolve, have now ensured that the days of buying a complete game are long gone. Soon enough, every game will have a season pass at launch, and companies will continue to hack their games into pieces so that they can milk gamers (or in this case their parents ) for every dime they can. Selling you just a chunk of the actual, complete game $20 at a time. And not only do you not even question these methods, but you wait in line to bend over for them.

3 RepliesVideo game prices have not risen with inflation, at least here in the UK. They have in some cases decreased in price. I payed £49.99 for PS1 games back in 1995. 20 years later I'm paying between £30-50 for a game. If you factor in inflation that 1995 price by today's standards is actually around £90 I got destiny for £37 and the Expansion pack for £35 Which back in 1995 would have cost me... Around £40 in total. So I'd say so far... We aren't doing too badly guys.

You act like Evolve and Destiny are the first ones to do this.lol You need to check the hostory of this movement in gaming.Been happening for a while.

This started years ago. As someone who has gamed for a long time, I can tell you that this has been an issue for years. First time I saw a season pass I said nope. And I've never bought one yet.
-
It is what it is. Things change. Companies evolve and consumers adapt. New strategies (for better or worse) come along to make money. You are right, this is the future of gaming. Locked content, DLC, etc... Oh well! You can't change it. I can't change it. We as consumers have shown a willingness to play the game and it isn't going to change. Am I stoked that I bought a season pass for content that was basically already on the disk? No! But I bought it anyways because at the end of the day I like Destiny enough to decide that the juice was worth the squeeze. When Comet drops eventually... I will likely drop whatever amount of money they want for that too. Because even though it sucks... I want to keep playing this game because I enjoy it so much. So now that you got your obligatory "dig" in at all of your fellow gamers, can you kindly move on and get over it? If you cannot get past it, maybe you should look in to moving on from gaming and getting a new hobby. No one here is asking you to compromise your morals.

7 RepliesQuit whining. Everyone knew the game was broken up like this pre-release. If you don't like it now, you have no one but yourself to blame for buying in in the first place.

Who let meg back in the house?

Everybody laugh at the poor kid.

If you don't have 15$ get off your ass and stop playing video games little twerp

You shut the -blam!- up meg

Not true at all. Have you seen the witches three? They are giving us FREE DLC after the game is released. Not to mention the game is going to be enormous and complete with an amazing story. Just because destiny didn't turn out the way you hoped doesn't mean anything you just said. P.s. I'm not defending destiny or bungie.
-
6 RepliesYes, we're the reason why big business video games have been doing this for years. Enjoy sitting all alone on your flawed principles.

1 ReplyThis guy has the Tumbler, meaning he already bought the DLC.....
-
You are new to the video game industry arnt you

Sad to say but this has been happening for a while now. Mass Effect 3 had day one dlc. Borderlands 2 had a season pass. EA access is essentially a season pass. Just a couple examples, I'm sure I could come up with more if I looked around. Not saying that its acceptable but destiny is not the first to do it.
-
1 ReplyNot Destiny/Bungie's doing.

3 RepliesI hate micro transactions and feel that they should be left with the mire that is mobile gaming but I don't have a problem with the season pass concept as long as I'm getting new content. If I feel it's not worth it I won't buy it. Would you rather games were released in a 'completed' state and then left to grow old and stagnant? Paying for new content not only allows for it to be developed, but for maintenance and patches too. Otherwise developers would release a game and immediately move on to something new. Back in the day I would have loved it if there was additional content available for Mario Kart 64, Goldeneye, Halo CE, etc.

1 ReplyThis has been the case for years now. It hardly started with Destiny. If anything. Destiny was much more complete tahn a lot of recent games which were buggy and partially unplayable at launch.
-
Hmm a ****head thinking everyones the entitled retard he is and doesnt realize we get extra dlc
-
Destiny is off the charts as far as value for money for me. That includes the Season Pass. I have no problem whatsoever with the way that this game and its content is being sold.

Edited by B1GRich74: 4/24/2015 2:20:27 PMAnd you think consumers are to blame? Plus, you bought the game and at least TDB, so give yourself a slap on the back too! Did you buy evolve?
