Vault of Glass relic holders going extinct?
So I was playing the Vault of Glass with a bunch of randoms this week, good group of guys. That being said, we got stuck on the gate keeper checkpoint. Well it turns out that I was the only person able to use the relic. Everyone was a lvl 31 or 32. Not good. Had a 32 tell me that he had no idea what to do in the VoG raid. I don't think that I'm an elitist prick but I feel like the raids should be unlocked. Beat VoG normal before you can attempt VoG hard. Beat VoG hard before you can attempt CE normal. Beat CE normal before you can attempt CE hard. Just my opinion.
[b]EDIT 1:[/b] I am loving to hear that some us relic holders are still around. I think that when looking for a fresh VoG run on the forums that I need to start requesting for relic holders.
[b]EDIT 2:[/b] Just an observation that I've made that my relic holding bretheren can probably agree with. When holding the relic during the Atheon battle I have noticed a scary amount of guardians shooting oracles with non VoG weapons. In my opinion the only non VoG oracle disruptor weapon being used to destroy oracles should be "Super Good Advise" since it's essentially unlimited bullets on a heavy machine gun with no need to reload.
[b]EDIT 3:[/b] I think tonight I'm going to look for a group to run VoG with. Requirements will be maxed out lvl 30 VoG raid gear only. Oracle disruptor weapons only. Exceptions to that could be the Vex Mythoclast, Super Good Advise, Icebreaker, Truth, and Gjallarhorn. No Crota weapons. 2 Hunters, 2 Warlocks, and 2 Titans. Vault of Glass run in the purest form. I think it would be a fun nostalgic run.

I usually call dibs on relic holding its the most fun job in that raid

2 RepliesIt got to the stage now i solo the gatekeepers left then come out of the gate,drop the relic for my teammate to pick up and head in and grab the one on the right. When at atheon there is never enough guys that can do the relic.if no one picks it up generally there bad if I'm not in there to take it then it's a wipe. The relic is not hard to use a bit of common sense go's along way.

I can run relic Most of my friends can run it except my xmas noob friends who won't even try to grab it !! I ran vog from gatekeeper and it was smooth because me and two of my buddies were there. I ran in Mars and my other buddy in Venus but when it came to Atheon if me or my buddies didn't get teleported it wouldn't get done. Those other guys were 32 who were thinking they were all high and mighty because they were 32. That was an annoying run

I saw this last time I was in a vault raid. There were 2 of us who were good at the relic. Resulted in several wipes at Atheon. We finally got lucky with the right people getting teleported three times in a row and got it done. For the record, I was one of the two.

Well you can't run access crota hard or vog hard by yourself without actually beating the normal mode of each first...then the hard modes will be unlocked.....now that being said, you can still join a group in a hard mode raid though

Alot of people never get the chance to even try the relic. I am a day one player and my origianl clan had two people who ran relic, no one else was allowed to try. Of course that was when you could control who went through the timegate. Eventually I was allowed to try and then when they made the timegate random I would just always grab it immediately if ported in. I got pretty good at it, but now with my new clan their are a handful of people who insist on always going into the portals and who also immediatelty grab the relic if ported in so once again I rarely get to use it. I think their are alot of people who know how to use it, but are afraid if they mess up with a group of randoms they will get booted or something. Just my two cents.

Had the same situation this past week except we had 1 other guy who could do it. Thankfully during the Atheon fight I was in the first teleport and he was in the second (we took him down in 2). The other players seemed skilled and knowledgeable but admittedly couldn't use the relic

Gatekeeper isn't my problem. I can handle them and actually think its easier with a RELIC than protecting the stairs. Atheon is different, I hate RELIC on this cp. Not that I can't, just it seems when I do grab it.... Succumbs to oricles

On Atheon normal if no one will grab the relic I will but I've only ran it a couple of times. The problem is people get pissed if you do mess up. Far as I'm concerned that's part of learning. So please be easy on people at least they had the balls to grab the relic.

Shoot I run the relics with my warlock but I agree, nothing worse then getting teleported and all 3 stand there like dipsh**s hahah

2 Repliesi would say that Black Hammer would be allowable due to its excellence at Atheon. also, anyone else notice how easy Venus is now that you can actually hit that stupid praetorian every time? good lord it's a breeze now

I had kinda the same thing happen to me as well this week. That is why when we get to gatekeeper I always volunteer to solo a portal. And I always hold "X" right before atheon teleports us just so I know I'll have relic.

6 RepliesI run relic on all parts of VOG - I enjoy it and have gotten pretty decent. Only thing that sucks is when I run relic on Atheon, I can't use my SGA on oracles...and I always seem to be the only person using SGA on oracles (wrecks them). Only other thing that irks me is people yelling "cleanse cleanse cleanse". When I clearly said I know how to run relic, cleanse at top, middle and before portal - and I'll cleanse when it's charged .... But no, all we hear in our ears is "cleanse, cleanse, cleanse me!" Lol Otherwise, I enjoy VOG no matter what "role" I'm filling for a fireteam.

I can relic very well for Templar and Atheon. Can do it on gatekeeper but I always push the Minotaur back into the portal and he spawns at the conflux
