A simple and fair solution to Thorn
Simple, alter its exotic DOT perk.
The DOT perk will become akin to Luck in the Chamber with DOT on top of it. I propose that TWO lucky rounds have the poison effect applied to them while the rest well be normal projectiles.
If this is applied, it will be a soft nerf to the poison effect abuse in the crucible and the weapon will also still be viable in PVE due to people spending more rounds into high health bosses/enemies ensuring the poison lucky rounds will proc.

Its not OP. I dont even use mine in crucible because i don't like it that much. If you can't outgun it, thats your own fault.

That is a very bad idea in pve the gun has low impact and Evan with the poison perk it has low damage and same in pvp it will almost always take 3 shot head shot and 4 shot body shot like any other hand cannon and it won't be worth the exotic slot at all

Why would you want to nerf it, its a great, fun gun to use. Its not like it's impossible to die while using it. If its not game breaking it doesnt need a nerf, its just good.

Or they can just change it back to 6 rounds, it'll eliminate the spray and pray aspect that's running rampant and then only skilled players would be able wield it.

Dont play crucible then. Or get a thorn yourself and wreck havoc, if you cant beat em, join em ;)

Either 1. Go back to six mag 2. Go back to previous reload speed However,I am sick of seeing whole classes of guns nerfed just because of 1.That and pve is the main player base,so let's not forget that it will have more of an impact there

Rather than reducing any damage it does, I believe a more reasonable compromise would be for Mark of the Devourer to only activate on precision shots.

Funny thing is...Thorn is actually OP. It's been proven too[spoiler]I'm not crying for a nerf, I'm just saying that Thorn's DoT is a bit too much there...[/spoiler]

Thorn is fine as it is... Learn to adapt your tactics to deal with situations instead of asking for someone to alter the game to deal with a problem that others have found a way to deal with but you haven't... Nerfing weapons isn't the answer, Buffing tactics is

5 RepliesIdk why everyone wants to defend this shit. Is broken as hell. You are almost guaranteed winning any gunfight with thorn with halfway decent aim. Two shot kills with primaries are bullshit. Now I don't like exotic hand cannons at all but I hate Thorn the most. Don't -blam!-ing tell me to counter with some shit like hawkmoon, TLW, or red death. Why the -blam!- should I be pigeonholed in to three other primaries when there are so many to choose from? That's what's wrong with the crucible now.

The Last Word, The Red Death, Hawkmoon, any decent handcannon or pulse rifle. Close range The Last Word beats the Thorn and mid-far range The Red Death / Hawkmoon out dps the Thorn. Just from my experience I can tell you I prefer The Red Death over the Thorn any day and rarely do I ever get beaten by Thorn. I get killed more by Felwinters Lie than any other weapon in the game and guess what? I don't even care about that weapon either.
