So me and my brother were doing a roc strike the other day and he gets called weak because hes got hes iron banner gear on at 32. We both have max raid gear but we prefer iron banner for the look and the pearks. So what do you guys think grinding iron banner for a week or getting it in a cheese raid in 40mins? Witch ones harder ? (Dont hate congratulate)

2 RepliesI don't like crucible at all. I hate it. I get that some people don't like to raid and enjoy crucible. Idc if u raid to 32 or do IB to 32. Both groups of people earned it just in different ways.

Can we all just agree that getting either set of gear takes absolutely no skill. Your two options are: 1: have to suffer through a raid where everyone cheeses everything and your just handed gear or 2: have to suffer through crucible, where it doesn't matter if you win or lose - you still get points, you still complete bounties, and with the buff once you do win you get most of your points back for the loss tokens. get to 32 any way you can. Anyone that says either of these options 'takes mad skillz yo' is lying to themselves.

3 RepliesBecause IB gear doesn't have PvE perks
-
I think the iron banner gloves look really cool for hunters
-
2 RepliesBecause Most PvE players can't play PvP.
-
I have full sets of raid gear and 80% of all raid weapons and a full set of iron banner gear and like 60% of the weapons
-
1 ReplyI'm just waiting for someone to say something about my warlocks IB chest piece lol

Edited by arcadecrash: 4/7/2015 1:50:41 PMAll things being equal I would rather have an IB geared 32 who has never done the raid with me than a Vanguard geared 31 who has never done the raid with me. Wearing either IB or raid gear doesn't demonstrate your level of skill in and of itself. Anyone that says different is just being elitist. Both just require persistence. You can suck and be carried through raids and you can suck in IB/farm glimmer and eventually get your armor.

Edited by bumpin_kicks: 4/6/2015 9:29:29 PMI've played a lot of both and personally its harder to get iron banner gear than raid gear. Raids are too easy. Iron banner takes a dedicated player
-
2 RepliesCause most of them can't get it.

well, for the crota raid, the crota gear has perks relevant to the raid, such has the all too important "carry more heavy ammo" perk on the boots, along with increased agility while carrying the sword also on the boots, increased reload speed while oversoul is active, and increased attack while oversoul is active. So, i'd rather you wear crota gear during the crota hard... but... VoG? whatever floats your boat, man.
-
Their gear is irrelevant
-
I raid a lot, like A LOT, over 100 Crota Kills on HM as Sword Runner. I personally love IB and it's gear, have sets myself, not sure why raiders would hate on it. However, Felwinter's Lie, wtf. If Bungie wanted to nerf shotguns in Crucible, they should have only nerfed that Felwinter's. It's range + impact is absurdly high and overpowered.

1 ReplyConsidering you still need 1 raid piece to be 32 I dont see that makes you fake
-
I don't see why people run raid gear outside of the raid unless there are some other perk sets that you like. I.E. infusion on the helmet or orb generation on the gauntlets. I like my iron banner gear personally. :)
-
Anyone who says raid gear is earned is a -blam!-ing stupid moron its all about luck and 90 % of the time getting thier arse carried through a raid iron banner gear for all your characters makes your eyes bleed and hand ache from playing for a solid week and before anyone says the perks make you so much better if you need those perks to make you better then you are just shit as well I got 3 character full raid and ib gear on my hunter and warlock and the ib gear looks -blam!-ing amazing compared to the shit raid stuff
-
Im missing all these posts talking bad about Iron Banner gear. Also, who gets on the mic un a ROC strike? This story could be made up.
-
Why you hating on raid gear?
-
I love the looks of iron banner gear and was going to try to stock up on it but then I noticed the perks for it wouldn't be nearly as useful in raids. Even the raid gear has different perks from piece to piece. Looks like the gear is kind of useful for the arena it comes from.
-
Most raiders don't even have flawless. If you don't have both iron banner and raid gear, you're too one-sided.
-
The warlock iron banner body is just a nice piece to look at after seeing all the same gear on everyone it gets stale. I personally don't care what level you are or where or when you got the armor just play and do your part is all I ask. I will admit that the iron banner gear for me is more useless as I would have rather had hand canon stats applied over autos or scouts. When I'm playing normal crucible I run it with dead orbit gear that I refuse to spend the shards on because I only needed the reload speed and ammo perks. I also prefer discipline and strength over intellect for crucible.
-
My opinion raiders hate on iron banner gear. Is they think iron banner is a easier path to 32. They don't have to grind for raident shards. Only ascendant shards.
-
You do know iron banner armor perks aren't that great right?
-
I agree with all the cheesing in this game that is allowed raid gear is too easy to receive, you know for sure iron banner gear you had to actually earn it and grind it out. Raid gear drop rate is ridiculously high and theres no drop rate for iron banner gear you just have to play to earn . Love the concept and will never understand why people would hate on . Btw if the sword bearer in Croat's end raid has on iron banner boots i would prefer them to have the raid boots for the extra agility but nonetheless everyone knows that gear and weapons don't create skill !
-
Don't care how you get to 32 as long as you can play. I don't PVP at all so I don't know the perks on IB gear. The 32 raid gear might be more helpful in the raids specifically but that's about it. 32 is 32.

When I see raid gear: oh cool he's done the raid. When I see iron banner gear: oh cool he's done iron banner.
