So many people on here will tell you to use prudence/spear/PR/LDR. I disagree with all of those for a few reasons. Especially if you are a quick scope sniper that likes to move around. The best sniper for PVP is any rare sniper with unflinching and quick to aim read reasons below. 1. The best scope for sniping is the short range scope - SLH10 quick to aim with good range. None of those snipers (except spear with right roll) come with the SLH10 scope. You can easily get a rare snipe with this scope on it. Don't dismantle and look at scope 2. ROF - is very important because head shots will not always come. I always aim for head, but if it's a body shot good luck getting the second shot in with spear. Why I hate the spear on PVP. PR has the best ROF, but it is missing the SLH10 (I hate the agile snappy scope to sensitive) and also quick to aim. Rare snipers like Amina E7, heracon - LR5, painted sammuramat-c have excellent ROF better or equal to any legendary sniper. 3. Stability - All anyone needs is medium stability if you are a decent sniper. If you need Max stability to get that second shot then use the PR or P&T and if this is you than i would bet your 1.0 K/D sniper at best. Stability will range from rare sniper to sniper, but the good ones like the ones listed above all have 65% or above stability. That's is all you need. 4. Perks - Many will say firefly, over penetrating rounds, or fitted stock are the best perks to have on sniper they are wrong. Firefly is a cool perk, but how for those who use it (PR-spear) how many group/multi kills have you gotten from firefly - it's rare. Over penetrating rounds is so much fun and cool perk but once again rare when you get someone through a wall. Not saying based on skill level, but how many times to find your self sniping getting the first shot and enemy runs behind wall and you wished you had over penetrating to hit him; doesn't happen that often. Fitted stock see #3 5. My perks in my opinion best option for PVP. Unflinching and quick to aim. First off these perks will be used most often in sniping scenarios compared to the ones mentioned in #4. Unflinching is a dominating perk. How many times has someone with an Primary shot you before you could get off that headshot (when zoomed) and the shot messes up your target acquisition. Plenty for me anyways. Unflinching takes care of that problem and is the best first perk to have on a snipe. Quick to aim my favorite perfect. Tired of shotgun need running at you, want to be able to quick scope someone (other snipers) once peaking from a corner than quick to aim is your best bet. Combined with the SLH-10 scope/quick to aim you will scope faster then anyone on the field and will get off your shot faster than any sniper. If you are good you can snipe anyone at close range and do it quickly. These perks will not disappoint you 6. Rare snipers- find solid rare sniper like the ones mentioned above with the perks mentioned above. They have the best ROF solid stability and with those perks can not be matched. I know impact is low, but who cares one headshot / 2 body shots. There are those scenarios where a teammate takes an enemy health down half way and you still have to 2 shot body shot him to get the kill, but once again that doesn't happen often and therefore do not sacrifice impact for ROF/stability and perks mentioned above. Ultimate sniper load out -- gunslinger (throwing knife imperative for short range/shotgunners) Primary --- TLW Secondary -- Painted Sammuramat-C with unflinching/quick to aim and the SLH-10 short range scope with quick to aim and good range. Heavy - against all odds (especially for noobs and random PVP matches. HOC/Hezen Vengeance for solid matches. P.S. - blink shotguns are the fusion rifles of today. Learn how to aim and use something that takes skill. I hate you all.

Protip. Like in halo, this game has subtle map lines, as in, in most maps there's a line in a wall, a block, anything really, that aligns to headheight, use those to your advantage.

Here's some tips, never get to close or get yourself stuck in a corridor, when knowing where to aim watch where people usually go and pre aim where there head should be, for instance let's say you see another sniper, you take cover and he hasn't moved, you know where he is so drag your scope and yourself around the corner, and it's all reflex from there. Always pick long corridors or hallways if you are in a small map, And always have an escape, if you have a hunter with ahamkara's spine you can set down a trip mine for cover, or as you are running from someone, on a wall to escape to. Getting in any duels in close quarters is bad, especially in destiny with all them shotgun users. Oh and running is always an option. Don't duel unless u have to. AND NEVER STAY IN ONE PLACE can't stress that enough, always be on the move.

It's actually easier to learn how to snipe if you jump into pve first and go some place with multiple enemy spawns (like the patrol bit on Venus at the start of the Archon priest strike) and just keep sniping things until you reach the point where you can line up a headshot and get a kill within 2 seconds of scoping - from there jump into pvp (a large capacity mag on a low player count game like skirmish is great if you're just starting out so you won't need to reload as much and there's less people to shoot you to throw your aim off) and practice on actual people with unpredictable movements Information credibility - successful offensive mid - long range non-camping sniper/counter sniper for control & skirmish

A sniper on any team in Control or Clash is a niche role, being that unless you are on Skyshock you will only ever see one on each team. By each being niche you have to find the spot on whatever map you are on to do your sniping. For Control it's easier because you are basically covering your command post; furthermore, most of the best sniping positions in control arecentered around post B (though on small maps this is null&void). for Clash this may as well be camping (not in an negative way). Sniping positions on Clash are really limited to chokepoints on a map: tight hallways, key access routes, or hard to reach areas. Having said all this anyone else love the dreadful sound of hearing someone break their game disk after you snipe em with No Land Beyond?

i used to snipe a lot and got camper messages.. get git scrub now i carry a shotgun instead of a sniper I still get git gud scrub.. lol there is no winning with people.

Body shots are not satisfying but a kill is a kill Always go for the head tho Good crucible snipers for you personally can come in all forms. With that said, I was comfortable with my longbow until a Silvered Boudica dropped from the crucible It's a blue weapon but it has short gaze, clown cartridge and snap shot on it so I tried it out Now I love it. Good specs as well Try different ones and experiment and you might do better with one opposed to another
