Blows my mind this is even a real concern in 2015. I don't raid so I never have big groups going, but getting matched up with ladies off lfg I've never heard this happen. Maybe in a bigger group or with friends guys wanna be cool or something and act like a dick? Dunno. They give us a bad name. And I'm not an internet white knight. I'm actually interested in the science of this nonsense.

I don't see why people are dicks like that. Let me guess.. the guy who says that it's your fault... its usually his, right? I personally... prefer to play with girl gamers on destiny, because they are never mean like the guys usually are. So many supposed "Pros" or "experts" have shot me down or refused to try a strategy or something because they don't think it would work, or they've never seen it work, Or something like that. Every female player I've played with have always accepted new ideas and stuff. (Alpha males are annoying as shit)

As another female gamer (with 2 kiddos) I completely get where you're coming from in asking for a little respect when it comes to playing online. Not only does it distract from what you're doing in the game, it also gives a negative experience towards the game. Back when gaming online got really big ( think Halo 3) I played a lot, but every match I played with a mic I would get called names left and right. I eventually stopped using one. Since playing Destiny I've never had any issues with anyone knowing I'm a girl. I hope that's a testament to the whole gaming community and that it stays that way. I hear ya, sucks that people can be so stupid. Just my two cents: jerks always find a reason and a way to be a jerk. Whether it's calling out you for being a girl and acting like you're somehow inferior, or telling another guy, "I don't have time to babysit," during my first raid run, this kind of do*che will always act on his inherent do*che-baggery. Try not to take it personally, because his actions only speak for his own lack of intelligence. Block or report, and move on a better group. Best wishes.

I have a few female friends on Xbox live. Spent many hours playing with them. They are better than most males I've played with and don't talk shit. Although the most vile comments and abuse I've received on Xbox live were from a girl. Sad but true. Female gamers ok in my book. #girlfriendly
