Lots of girls play, and some guys are annoying...
Okay don't think I'm some stupid feminist extremist or something crazy, I've just realized that some guys can be complete d*cks when they find out you're a girl and are joining their game. Not most, but some. Most of the games I join are great, but sometimes there's just that one guy that is constantly being a d*uche. If you're that d*uche, this is for you.
What NOT to do when a girl joins your game:
1) accuse them of being the reason your team will lose.
2) completely ignore them when they suggest a different technique for the boss, crucible, etc. even if it's better.
3) kick them after their first death even after everyone else has died several times.
4) blame them for the lag, even though everyone's red-barring.
5) ask them for nudes.
6) constantly talk sh*t about their boyfriend when he's not in the party.
7) assume they have no idea what they're doing.
What TO do when a girl joins your game:
1) "hey what's up, hard raid? Alright cool sent you an invite, so anyways back to what I was saying..."
Edit: this is my second account. Swedishmeow is my first. I am an experience d player, I do know what I'm doing. The problem I have is not when people say "you died you can't play with us" it's when they say "you're a girl you can't play with us". The people I'm referring to don't care about stats, as far as they see it if you're a girl you suck no matter what. Anyways, I'm done with this post now, seeing as many people posting are just ignorant. Off to play destiny. Later

There just some people like that. I have three friends that are female and their great players. You just have to realize that the virtual life in destiny is like real life, it's can be filled with douches unfortunately. So don't let pricks ruin the game for you, there's millions of players out there.

24 RepliesThe only issue I seem to have is with the thirsty -blam!-s who act like they've never spoken to a female in their life. Luckily, my IQ tends to be higher than theirs, so I can put them in their place pretty quickly. If you want to have a battle of wits with me, dont come unprepared. Other than that, no issues.

One was an experienced woman who only forgot to switch from thorn to voc against Atheon but I had died twice in the raid and she didn't do she was better than me. Second time was a random on the forums a level 29 asking for help through her first vog raid. I helped her out she listened to what the team told her and another newbie and she did great. We did Atheon in two tries because the two new people accidentally grabbed relic and when they figured out they had it dropped it too late and we had to wipe but they didn't make the mistake again so it was all cool. The woman got corrective measure and found verdict so that was good for her I don't mind playing with woman just as long they don't play dumb like some guys do as well. I don't care what sex you are just how well u play and listen or take charge if you need to.

My fiancée runs sword bearer - she's great. Three people in my raid team are female between the ages of 21 and 45. They're very good - one in particular kicks ass in crucible. None of them like talking on the mic when playing with strangers as a result of the stuff you've mentioned though. Rampant misogyny, innapropriate comments and general douchery. I don't feel I need to say anything like "girls are just as good as guys". That's obvious and insulting. I think gaming forums/ online play tends to attract the worst kind of people as evidenced by some replies on here. A lot of people have very weird views on 'feminism' and 'sexism'. There's also a lot of weird proto-masculine insecurity. You can take solace from the fact that the kind of people who demonstrate such negative behaviour are going to die lonely and unfulfilled.

I totally wish i knew more girls that played. It's rare enough for me to be in the same lobby as female gamers, that i usually mistake them for children. Which is sad. I try to work well with anyone regardless of age or gender or whatever. Sometimes it works out and sometimes not, but try to find more gamers like that and it leads to a better experience.

there's tonnes of girls in this game; really shouldn't be a novelty or surprise. but I guess for some it is. Literally every single pre-made group I have joined has had at least one girl. But also, I've never experienced the stuff you mention. No guy has freaked out or started insulting. Everyone I've grouped with has just played as normal.

Some probably don't want a girl because most guys immediately turn into horn dogs it seems. I see it a lot but I am a misanthrope so I play by myself and because I got shitty wifi thanks other people I won't mention.

I've never once had a compliant about a women's skills on raids. If anything I'm more concerned on how males play. Chances are those boys you are meeting are children or have never seen (or probably ever see) lady parts

U don't personally have any females on my raid teams or even talk to them often, but id treat them like I do everyone else unlike other men u speak of haha btw #5 shows how lonely people can be
