All Swordbearers had this Feeling
I just ran sword on Crota's end.
My heart was racing.
Im pretty sure all Swordbearers know what I'm talking about.

I just did it on hard first time a few days ago. I wasn't nervous or worried at all, but my hands were still shaking for no reason.

First time I told everyone I had run sword flawlessly on hard as my main class titan and they believed me and by amazing luck I ran it first time!

Everything. 1st try:Forgot to call rockets 2nd try:Call rockets and jump up early 3rd try:Crota sees me while Invis and goes Skyrim giant on me. 4th try: I get booted off of sword and we win first try. FML

First time was a shot in the dark with my Warlock after two manning it to Crota. I'd seen countless people do it so I thought, no more! I'd like to try it myself, and got it after 2-3 tries :) Third time I was swordbearer was a HM run with my Hunter, -blam!-ed up at the end when he enraged but I still was glad I managed to do all that damage. I had the decency to admit it was my fault [spoiler]mistimed swings under pressure, leaving my bum vulnerable to Crota[/spoiler]

My team and I are about to do the impossible, as we stand in front of the crystal looking in wonder at the soul we need to destroy, you can almost hear him laughing. I look to my right at kymera as he toss meet a heavy ammo, I load up my rockets as king places a hand on my back and tells me, " today we meet are Destiny head on and we will not fail for no mater what, we will bring him down even if it takes us every last man." Laughing I tell him "my blades have never failed you before my friend and they will not start today." Good because you will be the one to bring him death. I stare in to the eyes of my two friends and the 3 others that volunteer to take down a legend, knowing this is the end.... as the sword bearer falls I jump and catch the sword in mid air already racing to the platform the rockets fly over head and make in-packet the sound is deafening, but it is no match for the sound of my raging hart. All I can remember after that is my brothers and sister standing with hands out, I left my hand the blade still clinched in my grip his blood adorning the blade and the body of the son of Oryx lay a few feet in front of me. Kymera and King laugh and say " you are a living legend and no my brother you blades have still never failed us". From my point of view... What the swords there why cant i pick it up @$#@%$# just wipe timings off.

I killed Crota today for the first time and my heart was pounding my first run I missed the jump and got 0 hits second I got a total of 3 hits it took 5 swords but I knew what I was doing wrong i was missing to jump and hitting the slam to fast but I was really happy because Ive always wanted to be a sword and now every week I'll keep trying. :)

3 RepliesI just hate when i join a hard mode group and 3/5 people are using 300 attack weapons and have rockets with no tracking... and then i see 3 rockets whistle past crota while people say "he stopped taking damage" "he was glitched"

Yeah.. .that's funny... On hard mode at first it I got nervous... now sometimes I'll get nervous if I'm in a group of randoms and I know they will not get him down consistently or when it is needed... On normal mode, its like I couldn't care less... I'll have groups that don't wait for my signal and shoot before I even hit the rock to leap so I need to rush it, or I have groups that can't take crota down before he moves so I just say screw it and do a couple of jumps on post to reach the left or right platform and have them down him there while I'm dodging a bunch of fire.... Its like normal I know he will go down no matter what, but on hard I still have doubts depending on the group. if two or more have ghorns, I am pretty confident it'll be done...

Love running the sword, that's why I deleted my second warlock Tuesday night and made a hunter, hooker is already 27, she is almost ready for the big time. She already has a normal completion under her belt on CE and VoG, she was carried, but a win is a win.

1 ReplyYes there really isn't anything like it in this game. I did sword both crota on normal first week and also on hard first day. I do encourage everyone to try it as it is the most nerve racking part of this game
