Why 4 hits?

I just watched a video of a sword bearer getting 3 hits on Crota each time. Crota enraged on hit 15. Why is it common wisdom to get a 4 slam attempt in on one sword? Isn't 3 hits per down easier and less risky? Edit: the consensus seems to be is that it is a good insurance move if you miss a hit. Anyone else thinks it is safer to just play it conservative and get 3 each kneel? If you are good at timing and start the hits as soon as he kneels, it gives you ample time to cloak or escape.

  • If you do 4 each down, you can potentially get him in 2 swords or otherwise 2.5 swords. For example, get 8 on first sword and if you get a super in, do 8 on second and he'll be dead in two swords. Let's say you miss the super. On the second sword, just down Crota once and hit him 4 times. He'll be at 12 hits. Go to ogres. Then on third sword finish him. This saves your team some rockets as you don't have to down him twice on second sword.
