I have played the game since the beta and I have gotten more than my 60$ out of this game. I had a blast doing the vog when it came out and remember hearing how difficult it was and seeing people with raid armor was rare. But that was a long time ago. Now a lot of people have everything and most people have everything they want. I understand the game is fun and it makes it feel rewarding for killing even the simplest of enemies but that doesn't last forever. Some people stay to get the mythical gjallerhorn but for what? To show off? To kill faster? For those who have all they want why do you keep playing? I still play on Tuesday to get the nightfalls done to see if I get that hardlight but now I'm getting other games that I believe are more fun now and GTA heists are coming out tomorrow so goodbye destiny its been fun. I'll be back with HoW.
Edit: I am reading the responses and I like the reasons you all have. From trying to get that one gun to complete the collection or playing with friends. Also there are those that play the game to help those get threw raids for the first time. Nice to know there is still a community to back this game up. We all know the flaws but if we look past them we see the beauty this game can offer.
Edit2: I was not expecting this many replies and after reading threw a lot of them it almost makes me want to come back but heists are coming out tomorrow so there is no going back( well not until HoW is releases) thanks for proving there is a community behind this game that aren't all hostile. Have a good day and to all seeking that one weapon they just can't get I wish you the best of luck. I was on the same boat before I jumped off onto the hype train of fallout 4
Edit3: 1000. 1000 replies. The amount of positivity for this game from almost all of you makes it clear that this is going to survive longer than I thought. Thank you to all who replied. And bungie if you are reading this you did good, after all the negativity you still have a loyal fan base that support this game.
Edit4: HoW is just around the corner. My body is ready. Pls don't disappoint bungie I trust you with my 35$ I paid for the expansion pass.

IMO, Destiny is mostly a social game. I play daily with friends and my son. I love it. I do remember the mystery when VoG first came out. I wanted to play so bad but didn't have friends that played. That forced me to meet people and in turn, my love for the game has shot up. I remember seeing Glowhoo for the first time. I'm excited, next week will be similar. I probably fit the type of personality of person that is likely to get hooked. I like collecting things. I like shooting things. I like the strategy aspect of working with others to complete the raids.

GTA heists? that sounds interesting. Are they like raids?

1 ReplyAs of Tuesday I've been playing Bloodborne almost non stop with the exception of letting my roommate/friend play and that's when I go to Destiny

Because I just started a couple months ago and only just started raiding a week ago. Being a late adopter has advantages. Pretty glad I did start pretty close to the HoW release since the lack of PvE content is already noticeable to me.

Edited by Garsha420: 4/24/2015 8:29:25 PMI'm incredibly bored with Destiny. Not enough for the Lone Wolf player. Content is lacking or none existent. Plus how can they make like 10 weapons new and expect people are gonna keep coming back. On another note, Neverwinter is a great game and also Battlefield Hardline. Not enough content in Destiny to keep me interested. Bored as all get out! Also Crucible, in my opinion, the mode that has the most potential is almost none existent either. They keep adding content for the main game and the Crucible is the same. VOG and Crota is sooooooo repetative. I'm playing other games waiting for potentailly new, interesting content. I'm sure I will be disappointed. On a positive note Iron Banner is fun, and Trials of Osiris is coming back so that's probably the only reason I'll be playing. Besides that not even looking forward to new content. Do something big Bungie! Go big or go home!

It's funn

Just for raids. Don't even do nightfalls anymore.
-
Well, I'm still hunting the Suros Regime, and I need a pair of 36 gauntlets for my Hunter. After that, I'll have every exotic and a 32 of each class. Then I'll just be helping folks with raids and nightfalls until the DLC comes out. In a big-picture sense, the gameplay, lore, and co-op keep me coming back after 30 weeks.

Edited by Paul Stanley BR: 3/31/2015 2:55:34 PMThe problem with Destiny is the lack of content...besides that, it is a great game

It's fun

I just get more and more bored with the game so i only play it for pvp with friends or just helping friends out in raids
-
I enjoy running sword for people on the forums and watching them get rewards, running vog with my raid group is fun. My grimoire is only 2780 so I work on that, I also work on maxing all of my weapons.

Slowly giving up. I've put hundreds of hours of time into this, mostly because its addictive, i'm good at it, and there werent many other options. Now, though, after burning through all that the Dark below had to offer in a week, i've spent far too long waiting for about 3 hours worth of missions and maybe 10 hours for a raid. Because lets be honest, the raid and the missions are only rewarding the first time you do them, and im sick of grinding. Played crucible to death, strikes are worthless and nobody plays vault of glass any more regularly, nothing worthwhile is being fixed...the reasons to play destiny dwindle every day you continue with it.
-
You high? This game is rewarding? Compared to other games in it's genre, destinys loot/rewards is sad. The list of unique weapons is laughable, compared to Diablo/Borferlands. Story is laughable. Oh and I quit playing destiny. And I'm probably not going back to house of wolves. A few pieces of armor/weapons, a raid/strike, and few open spaces in the cosmodrome....games not worth it anymore.

I love the ganeplay, weapons, graphics and even though it's repetitive I still find I am addicted having to try and do as many dailies and bounties I can each day. I usually do these to upgrade weapons I am still trying to upgrade all my exotics. Once I have all the exotics upgraded I will probably focus on trying to get the last weapons i don't have , levelling up my titan (3rd character) and then starting on crota as I don't have the DLC. I also like the crucible even though most games I have played previously I have never really played the PVP component eg call of duty
-
I play Destiny cause me and my friends like the story with the added bonuses of the lore and grimoures and we have fun it's something diffrent besides call of duty which we played for years.
-
Edited by Arron Rift: 3/31/2015 4:36:33 AMI like crucible and watching pretty bars go up :) Oh, and laughing with friends.

My belief is that a large percentage of the traffic on this forum is made up of people who love destiny, but are frustrated with the game in some way and are looking for an excuse to quit without feeling like they are in the minority. They therefore turn here, where they start threads about how they are quitting or the rewards system sucking, in hopes that enough people will agree with them. Even if they get the desired result, they love destiny and still won't quit. Not realizing this fact, they think they just haven't found enough mass approval yet and they continue to wander the forums like ghosts with unfinished business, never to find what they are truly searching for. (and they still play destiny)

2 RepliesIt's a great game and I don't think I will ever play a CoD game again.
