I have played the game since the beta and I have gotten more than my 60$ out of this game. I had a blast doing the vog when it came out and remember hearing how difficult it was and seeing people with raid armor was rare. But that was a long time ago. Now a lot of people have everything and most people have everything they want. I understand the game is fun and it makes it feel rewarding for killing even the simplest of enemies but that doesn't last forever. Some people stay to get the mythical gjallerhorn but for what? To show off? To kill faster? For those who have all they want why do you keep playing? I still play on Tuesday to get the nightfalls done to see if I get that hardlight but now I'm getting other games that I believe are more fun now and GTA heists are coming out tomorrow so goodbye destiny its been fun. I'll be back with HoW.
Edit: I am reading the responses and I like the reasons you all have. From trying to get that one gun to complete the collection or playing with friends. Also there are those that play the game to help those get threw raids for the first time. Nice to know there is still a community to back this game up. We all know the flaws but if we look past them we see the beauty this game can offer.
Edit2: I was not expecting this many replies and after reading threw a lot of them it almost makes me want to come back but heists are coming out tomorrow so there is no going back( well not until HoW is releases) thanks for proving there is a community behind this game that aren't all hostile. Have a good day and to all seeking that one weapon they just can't get I wish you the best of luck. I was on the same boat before I jumped off onto the hype train of fallout 4
Edit3: 1000. 1000 replies. The amount of positivity for this game from almost all of you makes it clear that this is going to survive longer than I thought. Thank you to all who replied. And bungie if you are reading this you did good, after all the negativity you still have a loyal fan base that support this game.
Edit4: HoW is just around the corner. My body is ready. Pls don't disappoint bungie I trust you with my 35$ I paid for the expansion pass.

At this time I have just about everything that I want from the game minus the Vex. I still play to rank up factions, do NFs and to do VOG. I also enjoy playing with friends. Like everyone else I am ready for next week.

Collecting purposes... getting ready for the house of wolves Trials amor looks badass!

I have obtained all the exotics in the game, and I have completed all the activities destiny has to offer multiple times. I still get on to play with/ help friends every now and again.

Honestly just now getting into raids and I'm starting to enjoy them a bit more now than I did before. At least VoG that is. Not too great at Crota yet. But I want to reach 32 even though there really is no point at this time since HoW is coming out. But I love the gameplay so I keep coming back.

I play because the hawmies play and it's a good time to talk about life and school . It's like guys therapy

What is this... I don't even... Play games because they are fun! Not having fun? Play another game and don't waste precious time complaining about what you don't like. Of course, keep complaining if that's what makes it fun for you. Just don't expect the whole world to agree with your madness. That being said, Destiny is simply one of the best shooters of the past decade (in my opinion). Its mechanics and gunplay are totally enthralling. Having grown up on Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Rise of the Triad, etc., Destiny is a childhood dream game realized. TL;DR. I play Destiny because I like it.

I play because I like it. I'm also an admin in a clan do there a few ppl that depend on me in a way. I like to play with friends and I love running crota hm as swordbearer with warlock or titan just to hear someone tell me I can't bc I'm not a hunter.

It's fun.
-
Social aspect and good team gameplay. It offers more than a lot of other console games can offer.
-
Cause I like it
-
I payed, i think, $300 for the game (don't remember how much the ghost edition was.) and I still play because it's fun

The PvP has kept me engaged while waiting for House of Wolves. I just enjoy the shooting mechanics overall.

Gameplay is incredibly smooth and tight still. Gun controls, movement, variety of subclasses, special abilities, grenades, etc., all are excellent in my opinion. Despite all the many flaws and errors with the game, I'm consistently excited by the potential this has as a gaming franchise and what it could become on the future in the talented and dedicated hands of Bungie. The original halo was rough around the edges but stellar at its core and from that beginning came the legends of halo 2 and 3. I would liken Destiny to Halo CE, maybe a bit more problems but still very much a great game, and so I'm very excited for future installments in this franchise.

Hawkmoon. Complete my exotic collection. Tis all
-
Nothing else released that I have wanted to play, Witcher and Elder Scrolls will change that so unlikely to play much if at all after that but who knows, not ruling anything out.
-
I have clan members to help and new members to guide through the ranks for loot. Love playing crucible and just generally enjoy the game still!!
-
Trying out new weapons is one of my main reasons for playing anymore
-
I just really really enjoy it. It is an objectively fun game for me.

I like to grind
