So when choosing a mission from the map, it gives you 2 options, to resume or to restart if you have a checkpoint active. Whenever I chose to restart the mission it always put me in at the checkpoint, so I figured it was broken, but I just found out what I was doing wrong. I noticed when I choose resume, it selects the default difficulty, then I go and choose one with heroic and select it as normal with 'A', but this time I selected the difficulty with 'X' and lo and behold, I get a message telling me progress will be reset and the mission starts from the beginning. Can't believe it took me this long to figure that out!

Yeah it's always been like that. Took me a while to figure out too. Such a simple fix lol, yet they won't put a pop-up in there. So strange.

1 ReplyThanks for this post. Been playing for a while and I didn't know that either. Is the only mission it's ever been an issue with, but I was out of heroic levels to restart it on, so glad I found your post. Saved me some time. Cheers.

1 ReplyWhy not just keep your checkpoint and go 1 difficulty higher? If you look at the 4 heroic difficulties. The first number is white then the next 3 lvl's numbers are in yellow. Only the first heroic modifier holds a checkpoint the others will always start you at the beginning

2 RepliesVery helpful, I've been farming Exclusion zone on level 30 because i accidentally got past all the lower level checkpoints.

You lord, thank you.

Beta player... had no clue. Thanks for the post

On Playstation to restart you select the difficulty with Square. Just in case that hasn't been posted already.
-
You didn't know this
-
I've been playing since day one and didn't know that. Thanks!
-
Thank you, I assumed the restart was broke too.
-
I did not know about this. Thank you!
-
Haha thanks for this coz I too was baffled why it never worked
-
Wow. I. Fail. I didn't know this either. I was like. Ugh. No reset. Lol.

1 Replyit's "lo and behold," not "low and behold." lol

mind blown. great PSA!

Thanks to those who have clarified how to do this on Playstation. Been on since day one and also figured this was just a broken mechanic.

All they need to do is push a fix that keeps the button guide up and nobody would have this confusion anymore.

1 ReplyJust to add a bit of realism to the conversation, I'm just going to comment by saying that nobody really cares if you've known about this apparently common knowledge since day 1. In the event that you have already found out about this feature, then that's awesome for you. There's no point in bragging about it. Do the people that have been negatively posting about OP and the "christmas noobs" that didn't know earlier want cookies or something because they're so smart for knowing this before it was posted? It was a post for the people who DIDN'T already know, so obviously a fair portion of the replies will be from people who previously did not know.

3 RepliesI found this out a while back. On PS4 or PS3: when choosing the mission difficulty, instead of pressing "X" if you press Square, it will let you choose whether to resume or restart. This is totally non-obvious because while choosing the difficulty there is no sign that you are allowed to press Square at all, it only says "X". I use this when doing exclusion zone if i accidentally kill the last cabal.
