32s...Do you Run crota once on hard? or do you do normal first?
Im still very confused about the loot tables. I just completed normal with my hunter and got the gear i needed for 32.
With my warlocks who are 32, do you suggest hard mode only or both?

Normal first for chests and need that Fusion Rifle. Then Hard mode for Crux. Once I have Crux no reason to do Hard mode

Run it depending on what you want...Crota only drops certain weapons on normal I believe so if you want those do normal.

2 RepliesDoes anyone know if you were to complete hard first then go back and do normal, would you still get a chance at getting special/heavy weapon drops? Or will you get nothing?

Well, back when VOG was all the rage, we always just did hard mode every week, because ANY weapon could drop on hard mode and you could only get the Vex & the Raid Helmet from hardmode. Now with CE, Secondary & Heavy only drop on normal, and primaries only drop on hard, also, you can, conceivably, get a full set of raid armor just from 1 normal run. So it really just depends on which raid I'm running.

Since I'm going for BH (if my other characters don't get it) I run it on normal then hard

2 RepliesIf you do hard mode without doing normal, you will get the normal drops, too. For crota (on hard) you won't get specials and heavies though. If you do normal THEN hard, you will get rewards ONLY for hard mode. I suggest doing hard until Crota and if you still need specials and heavies like Black Hammer and Hunger of Crota, leave and kill Crota on normal, then you can go to hard and kill him again for primaries.

I run crota on normal on my hunter bc I have started running the sword for my group and I want to practice on normal to get the pattern down before I run it on hard but on my Titan I don't mind doing hard first bc I have a different role to play then

Hard gets you a spin at loot you'd get on normal and hard. Normal only spins the normal RNG for the raid.

Depends on what you're missing. I personally have 3 32's and everything from Hard Mode but, missing light of the abyss (sharded mine to get a character to 32) and Hunger of Crota (never dropped for me). I do normal every week in hopes of getting those and run Hard with my clan when they want to. If you don't need anything from normal but, still need primaries from Hard then just run Hard. No need in doing both if you don't have to. You will get double drops when applicable from Hard if you haven't ran normal.

I run hard because I need radiant materials. Once my warlock is 32 and my raid primaries are leveled up, I'll be done with Destiny until House of Wolves.

My group runs Crota normal for the exotic drops. No need to run hard as we all have everything (except a couple of us not having the crux, which as of now isn't worth the hassle.)

2 RepliesI have two 32s and I run normal before hard mainly for the extra exotic chance from killing Crota himself. A bunch of my friends I run with back out for deathsinger and complete that on hard because of the extra chance of an exotic but I find that it doesn't really matter. I always do it on normal and hard and I find that it doesn't make any difference on my loot. I've gotten the crux two times even with doing it on normal first. I don't see why people just don't run normal first it only takes 20 minutes and you can get better stat roles on certain items too.

If you do hard mode first than you get the rewards from both hard and normal. I'm pretty sure you can't get black hammer and the heavys from hard. I had to do normal to get them. So if you don't have those than I suggest doing normal first.

Yea you can become 32 through normal. But jn hard you get the primary guns. And gloohoo. And crux of crota. And i think you get double the radiant material. In my first hard run, i got auto rifle, pulse rifle, scout rifle, and enough shards to become level 32 so then i did Crota and just got material.

I have everything from the hard raid including the crux, so I just run normal so I can finally get a black hammer

To be honest it all depends on what you guys want from the raid. I'm only gonna keep doing hard till I get the crux. Then I have no further need for it.

I'm just missing the chest piece for my titan, should I be running normal? Or go for the double drops on hard?
