Personally, I think that Destiny (at its current state) would be massively broken by trading. I just want to see why others think trading would break the game.

I think trading would be awful. Some system of like a "raid loan" would be interesting to me. If you were in a fire team, you could loan gear to other people in the fireteam and as soon as either left the fireteam, the item would return to its owner. That way if you're running the sword, for example, someone else could utilize your fully upgraded Gjallarhorn.

It's coming but probably not for a year

The whole point of destiny, is getting cool gear. If you could buy it your effectively done!
-
duping. it would run rampant.

4 RepliesIt would break the game. If they did it they would have to make the loot similar to borderlands and have tons of variations on the exotics. Also the drop rates would have to go waaaaaayyyyy down to accommodate for trading. Ppl would hate it more not getting anything good for weeks on end
-
3 RepliesJust like any other mmo.. trading systems always break the currency system.
-
I'm up for Diablo style trading, if you were in the game when X drops you can only trade with those people for 2-4 hours. After that the trade goes away. I would be in 100% favor for trading things like materials, strange coins, Weapon and Armor parts whenever you wanted.
-
2 RepliesBecause then we will have a swarm of forum posts of elitists who claim that you did "earn" your weapon and therefore you did not get it legit.

-
5 RepliesIt would be too easy to get things you dont have and takes away the grind which keeps you on a video game
-
3 RepliesDuplication glitch inbound
-
being at the level cap would mean nothing. EVERYBODY WOULD BE 32.
-
There are so many other things I want why fight for trading?
-
2 RepliesEveryone would have what they want so there wouldn't be anything to shoot for
-
6 RepliesAnyone for trading is either dumb or has never played an mmo before.
-
its a joke to get everything already, the content is shit....trading = less time to get limited content = less to do... just no
-
5 RepliesNo one would have to work to get the exotics they actually want. They would just work and whenever they got ANY exotic they would trade it for the one they want. It would be game breaking. Just lije if xur sells the gjallarhorn again it will f***ing ruin the game. They've already ruined it by selling ice breaker way too many f***ing times.
-
2 RepliesIt would take all the fun out of the game. I am just playing it to get those missing items. If I could just buy or trade them, I would be gone soon.
-
The pope is white.
-
2 RepliesPeople will make multiple accounts and just trade between characters and have everything faster
-
Trading would equal RMT So I'm glad it's not here
-
Trades could be completely unfair, friends wold just give free stuff to friends. People say "well then make it legendary for legendary, exotic for exotic" well than what if someone gives a no land beyond for a hawkmoon. Seems unfair to me
-
1 ReplyIt would just be that much easier for people to get everything = people have nothing to play for = people get bored and lose interest.
-
5 RepliesIf players could trade it would destroy the game, I'm not saying that I think everyone has to grind and "earn" ( I hate saying that) but could you imagine if players could trade? Let's say you have been playing since day one, you have all the armour and weapons you could want. Your buddy gets the game on Friday, you go to Xur buy some weapons and armour, go to the vanguard and crucible and do the same. Now you give them all to him. He has had the game for one day and now has all the end game content you could dream of ( except for raids gear etc...) This is why bungie should never install a trade system for weapons and armour. I think one for materials could work however, and you would not be able to give a lot maybe 10 of each material?

I got Ghorn so now we shouldn't

If trading to the degree that Borderlands 2 had were in the game, it would break it. However, I don't see why they can't let you swap post mission rewards with your teammates, or something limited like that. If you were there with me, why can't I give it to you? My buddy got another Suros he didn't need in the Nightfall, and I would gladly give him one of my 4 Gjallarhorns for it, but no.
