Is the Invective shotgun worth the hassle?
So I've started 'A Dubious Task' without first checking the attached wiki and I've suddenly realised that there is a PvP step involved. Apparently I need to achieve a +25 kill or assist / deaths rating in the crucible, the problem being I am not very good at PvP. There is potential for me to fall into a pit of negatives because I usually suffer more deaths than kills.
So the question, is the Invective shotgun worth the hassle?
NOTE: Thanks for all the tips. I've done this 3 times now and the hardest part seems to be farming glimmer.

yes!!! i have every pre HoW exotic weapon and Invective is definitely one of my favorite ones ;)

It's not bad, play conservatively and it'll only take five or six decent matches.

Hang out with your teammates and just try to wing every enemy you see. Assists for days.

Man, NO ONE is worse in PvP than I am, you'd have to hit bottom and DIG to get a K/D ratio lower than me. In fact, I actually have a D/K ratio - how many times I die for every kill, lol - and I still got invective. It has its place in PvP, it makes its own ammo like Icebreaker, so no worrying about the special ammo crate Nerf.

It regens ammo has a small clip full auto and final round It's definitely worth it More so for pve As everyone in pvp is using sniper shotguns

Bounty isn't hard, and you can't go negative on the bounty itself, just stays at zero if you die enough, just play with a friend who will lower the person, and you run in for the kill

3 RepliesI wanted it for the longest time, only finding out the full auto basically did nothing, impact didn't make up for slow rate of fire, and mag size was low too. I'm not trying to be a complainer but in general my hopes were way to high and other shotguns like felwinters lie and hard luck charm really put up a competition. In a main idea, if u have the glimmer and time, it would be cool just to add It for a collection.

4 RepliesThe only bad part of the bounty it buying the special ammo synths. If you don't think you can burn that much glimmer and have some spare Ether Seeds or Black Wax Idols you can use those with Eris Morn or Variks.

The guns fun but it started collecting dust, the pvp part really isn't that bad, I'd say try normal control while people are occupied with iron banner and trials, use weapons with range and watch your corners, I'm awful at pvp but managed to get it in less than 10 games( first handful were figuring out what exactly the bounty was and coming up with a game plan) my biggest hassle were the strikes, at least every other I died by something stupid

1 ReplyEdited by BainidheDub: 5/13/2015 9:43:16 PMJust make sure you farm glimmer. You need 50 special ammo synths. its like 12500 glimmer. The crucible part is pretty easy, since assists count as well as kills. I think i finished it in about 10 matches during the last iron banner.

14 RepliesHad this dam bounty for ages and seriously considering binning it off. I suck at PvP, playing a lot at the moment due to IB, and the best I've gotten to is 14 out of 25. I know a few if the things in my PvP game I need to fix but I think I'm just always gonna be a bullet, knife, fist and space magic magnet.
