If a modern day democrat gets a hold of office, it’s game over for America. We are on the verge of another civil war.

Have you seen some of their tax proposals? Where’s the incentive to work?
Have you seen some of their tax proposals? Where’s the incentive to work?
Such as.....?
Have you seen some of their tax proposals? Where’s the incentive to work?
What are you taking about? Taxation doesn’t remove the incentive to work, higher taxes reduces the chance that people will actually pay them.(It’s called the Laffer Curve) Of course democrats could do what trump did. Give short term tax credits and raise taxes on the low and middle class for the Long term.
You know it’s kinda genius, by the time his tax hikes go into effect, trump won’t be in office meaning they’ll get blamed on the next guy
Umm that’s not true at all. You know how the rich get away with it right? They make it so they get 100% of the profits so their business “breaks even”. If your business breaks even you don’t pay taxes.
Umm that’s not true at all. You know how the rich get away with it right? They make it so they get 100% of the profits so their business “breaks even”. If your business breaks even you don’t pay taxes.
Yeah that's not true at all. Income in your business is still business no matter if you make money, lose money or break even. The Rich get away not paying taxes by paying themselves through bonuses. Robert Kiyosaki explains this pretty thoroughly in "Why The Rich are Getting Richer".
-
Business’s have profit motivations to work, and the reason the break even thing works is because our tax code is -blam!-ed. The average joe isn’t putting their income into an LLC and treating everything as a business expense

Whose going to fight in it.... a bunch of fat ass video game nerds?

Largest heist ever pulled in person (1990) $200 million Largest heist ever pulled online (2015) Over $1 billion You tell me who is more scary. A bunch of meatheads who can kick down a couple doors and go bang bang shoot shoot or a single fat boy who can take down their entire regional electrical grid at the click of a button.
-
The meatheads The fat boy destroying an electrical grid will get destroyed by all the meatheads without power. Also anyone with a gun.

Изменено (Breach): 5/29/2019 8:28:21 PMDemocracy is just 51% of the people taking away the rights of the 49% Also not when the media is allowed to influence votes. They should be impartial, and right now, the MSM is NOT.

Изменено (scryptic): 5/30/2019 12:00:49 PMI mean technically in Trump's case its 49% of people taking away the rights of 51% of people, considering the fact that Trump got less votes than Hillary.
-
How does an election constitute taking away rights?
-
You literally just compared that to democracy in the post above.
-
The alternative to democracy is less than 0.1% of the population taking away the rights of 99.9% of the population - forever. It’s commonly referred to as a dictatorship.
-
Technically, the alternative to democracy in this context would be Republicanism, which is what the United States was founded as
Technically, the alternative to democracy in this context would be Republicanism, which is what the United States was founded as
Yeah yeah yeah, for all intents and purpose the US is a democratic constitutional republic. They’re are certain safeguards to prevent tyranny of the majority but they’ve been manipulated to allow minority rule
-
Yeah, and? Did I argue against that anywhere?
-
Nah, i was trying to point out you and Zardos are shaming the same thing in a different way. Semantics nothing else
-
Oh, I see what you mean
-
Republicanism is just the notion that the people govern themselves and that the liberties of citizens and the rule of law can’t be ignored by government. It doesn’t specify the means by which people govern themselves. Democracy is perfectly compatible with republicanism - in fact it’s the only real form of Republicanism that can practically work. Unless you can think of a better system?
Republicanism is just the notion that the people govern themselves and that the liberties of citizens and the rule of law can’t be ignored by government.
That is not "just" all A republic is. A republic is:
a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch.
Why do you think one party is called the Democrats and the other Republican? There is a difference in method. Both use parts of the other, modern democracy uses republican aspects and republican forms use low level democracy. However, it is important to keep the scales tipped toward the Republic side, because, like Aristotle, the farther of political science, believed democracy, the mob rule, is dangerous
