Yeah, the way classes differ is weird. And because of how Bungie has set them up, the tank, Mage, and rouge roles don't exist. But you did mention something about how bladedancer and gunslinger aren't really viable in PvE. This is very true and it bothers me. This problem also is true for titans and warlocks. There is no reason to ever run something over Self-Rez, Bubble, and tether. They're just so good. And now I'm mainly a PvP player, but this is a serious issue that has always really bothered me. They need to do something to make things like defender and nightstalker less power for PvE so that the other subclasses can shine.

Or they could buff something for once. Nerfing doesn't solve anything it just turns the entire crucible into a shotgun orgy. :/

I didn't say nerf. I do believe though that nightstalker and defender need a bit of re-work to make them as dominant in PvE.

You said less powerful that nerfing just worded differently

Not necessarily. Let's say bungie changed the bubble to 15 seconds but you could now shoot out of it. And let's say they changed weapons of light to a new perk where abilities cast inside the bubble do increased damage. If they did this, bubbles wouldn't be an absolute necessity and instead just be a helpful subclass. Because now, you need another guardians super or grenade to truly maximize on damage output with bubble. And if you are solo, it would allow you to get some free sniper shots off without any risk, and you could probably get a bonus damage stick on a strong target. You don't have to nerf things directly to make them a little less powerful. In fact, sometimes it's better to rework things a little bit rather than to lower the numbers.

Sooo......... nerfing one aspect and buffing another

Sort of. Or it can simply be changing how a perk works to make stronger all around and not super pro-dominant in one certain thing.
