With the game being out for a while. A good amount of people have completed the game in their own ways. The content is getting "stale" and the new bach is coming in May. There is a gap. Those who said PvE was the most important are the same ones who will be leaving the game crying that Destiny doesn't have enough content. Meanwhile, Destiny has a PvP side that those who enjoy it will be able to stay longer because PvP brings a taste of variety.
PvP has a longer life span than PvE and these are the days where you'll see it most. You cannot expect PvE to never run out of content. PvP won't. This is why multiplayer games like Call of Duty can live for such a long time.
Don't say PvP is 10% of the game. Don't say PvP is not what Bungie should focus on. PvP has its own life and it will keep players playing for a good while until Bungie finds something else. *cough* Trial of Osiris *cough* Don't complain about Iron Banner events. Don't complain about Bungie catering to the PvP players. Truth is, once you use up all the content available in PvE, you won't care to bother with something that isn't new and refreshing.

I agree with PvP having a longer life span than doing dailies and weeklys of the same content over and over. I just wish there were more things like Queen's Wrath to present the illusion of extended content.

1 ReplyThe only reason say there's no variety in PvP is because they only use the typical go-to guns (vex, thorn, suros). If you try multiple guns out, it can be quite enjoyable. I personally started using mida and am liking it a lot. Paired with dance machines, you can out strafe everything. Plus, I don't see many people use it. I'll probably run another uncommon gun like oversoul edict next.

1 ReplyPvP isn't as important as PvE. Don't tell random people what to do... That's one way to get ignored.
-
just came here to say PvP is not as important as PvE now.
-
Ok name me some pvp gear which is just as important as raid gear?
-
PvP in this game is and should be 10% of the content unless they push it as a Battlefield, cod game where the player expects the whole game to be centred around PvP. Bungie keep updating PvP and pissin their pants over the 2 raids in Destiny and leave all the rest of us who can't be arsed looking for raid teams or who only PvP to get the exotic bounties, out. Games good but they are so many others. Try planetside2. Best PvP in any game so far.

3 RepliesYou're right, the game IS getting stale, which is why I'm playing Dying Light.
-
People who say PvP is 10% of the game are just bad at it because they can't predict every footstep the enemy is going to make.
-
PvP is what you play when your bored or when you have nothing to do in PvE
-
1 ReplyI get pretty bored in PvP, personally. I don't know what you mean by "variety". All that changes from match to match is who you are playing with or which match type out of a few you choose to play. The maps are limited and I often wind up playing the same maps multiple times in a handful of matches. If you prefer PvP, more power to you. I simply do not see where you are coming from.

2 RepliesEdited by Mystixx: 2/9/2015 11:08:02 PMTho, i would rather farm strikes 50 times, than getting pwned by random...well, anything around the corner. Or people who don't cooperate in skirmish. Or lagfests. Or premade teams that get both heavy drops Or teabaggers -.- Or campers That's really not my kind of variety. No, i'd rather play 50 strikes with 2 afk random people, than to say i agree with you. But that's just because you and i like the game in each our own special way. Stop trying to start the "PvPers will outlast PvE'ers" war, and respect that other people do have other ways of enjoying this game, I hardly think you speak for the...what is it now, 6 millions players playing?
-
PvP does have staying power, but so does PvE. They just screwed up the PvE side. Also iron banner is great, it's just extremely frustrating that after five of them they haven't changed a single bounty, emblem, shader, or class item.
-
The lag kills pvp I hate it
-
5 RepliesPvP is a retarded mini game to appease cod fags like you.
-
2 RepliesI play both. I think I'm in the minority though. At least going by what I see on the forums that is.
-
2 RepliesMaybe if the crucible PVP was competitive like other games that have pvp, but unfortunately it is not. Get rid of pvp in destiny all together and add a horde arena instead.
-
4 RepliesI looked everywhere and just couldn't find this PvP mode that brings variety. Did you get a special copy of the game that the rest of us didn't? Mine only came with a couple boring game modes with a few garbage maps. I wish I could play whatever you are describing.
-
Definitely right about game being stale but anyone who would stay for the pvp is an idiot. The lag fest of timed supers is a joke and there are so many better options available for pvp.
-
3 RepliesPvP is a waste of time reward wise. You play a ten minute game and get (most of the time) nothing or something that is of no value to you.
-
2 RepliesThis game needs both though. if you're JUST wanting PvP, buy COD or Halo, they are much better on just a PVP standpoint. They also have been around MUCH longer than Destiny, which could be why. They've had more time to fix issues people show them. If this game didn't have a good (though can be repetitive) PvE side, it would be dead before Comet comes out. I don't play PVP because I spent my entire life playing COD and Halo, so it doesn't appeal to me very much now. I feel this game just needs more time to develop and get more content, though paying for multiple expansions won't make users happy. If Comet doesn't show some major improvements though, that may be it for me. I love the game, but we're not even halfway through the time until Comet (I also took about a month break in November) and I have 2 32s and 1 31 (terrible luck with armor for him) and have most any weapon I've wanted. Just needs something that feels new.

Edited by milkisforbabies: 2/9/2015 10:54:47 PMI only think PvP needs a clearer reward path in line with pve. If you want better gear theres no point trying to do it in PvP, u have to goto pve as its easier to get better stuff. The PvP would be better of this wasn't the case.

I agree, very fun
-
1 ReplyPvp is not as important as pve. DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO! Sorry :(
-
I can't stand the -blam!-ing crucible. It's a cluster -blam!- of shotguns and fusion rifles. I have the Thorn bounty and it's a pain in the ass. I love PvP and I certainly think that Bungie got it spot on with Crucible. I'm not a top champion nor do I suck, but there's a problem when all I see is people using shotguns. Sure whatever people with use what guns they want, be it hand cannons or snipers. But the amount of bullshit I encounter in the crucible with people that have fusion rifles or shotguns is -blam!-ing stupid. I want to play real PvP, instead of can I say far enough back from the shotgun blast or can I kill him before his fusion rifle goes off.
-
Pvp is the best part of the game.
-
Agree. PvP is half of the game.
