Leaked Crotas End Hard Mode Glitch? You Decide
So here's what happened... My buddies and I no problem went through the raid. We arrived at that ol' bastard Crota and began destroying him. Going normal right? Well out of no where while we were lighting up the swordbearer, a gatekeeper came out of no where and killed like half our squad! I shit you not after he killed 3 of our men, he vanished into thin air as we were devastated by the oversoul... I instantly yelled xbox record on that shit as we all stood there confused as hell. Let me know what y'all think. Is hard mode going to have a gatekeeper at the end? Or do you think it was just a glitch. I'm planning on posting the clip to youtube soon and will be sure to edit and post the link..

2 RepliesSometimes theres a Gatekeeper on the second floor where the Big crystal is where you start crota mission. I tried to get up there, but theres an invisible wall.

1 ReplyI haven't had that, we did have it so that crota chased us into the room with the summoning crystal. That was weird.

So if this is not an indication of hard mode. It just might be: So there is a gatekeeper that spawns with the sword above spawn and while talking to a teammate weeks ago we concluded it was put there so bungie didn't have to create a whole new sword: took the sword from the bridge for this fight but changed spawn point of gatekeeper. Now what could of happened is so weird agro and glitchiness combined to make the gatekeeper come out of the building and glitch through the invisible guide rail above the stairs (explains the positioning) and then got teleported back to the top(explaining it disappearing ) because it is not supposed to be on the ground.

That's actually kind of terrifying hahahaha He actually disappeared into thin air when the over soul came up, so maybe he only spawns to make you scramble while trying to damage crota??

That's so weird. But what seems plausible is that whilst you were doing the bridge, you accidentally spawned one too many gatekeepers/didn't kill one in time before the sword disappeared. Then he ran through and glitched behind you? Or... I'm reading too far into this and it is from the hard raid. If this is the case it would be pretty cool and would make things more difficult as the sword runner would more than likely only be able to get one round per sword on Crota and the rest on the Gatekeeper.

5 RepliesWOW! I have a feeling all of these perks they give us on our gear, such as: increase reload speed while overlord gaze is active, and increased damage to overlord gaze... I think there will be something that will make dying on the hard mode Crota a usual occurence, hence the overlord perks. I'm very afraid this may be a portent of things to come :(

If you notice the gatekeepers spawn above you on the left and right I believe they will be a part of the hard raid

4 RepliesYou probably need to kill a gatekeeper too in hard mode before you take Crota out. Classic Bungie, slow down the boss fight with another boss before you get to the last boss.

To be honest he's going to be a problem because I personally think we'll have to deal with him on hard mode . Think about it a gate keeper standing over us doing nothing . Its not because of people trying to get up there because theres a barrier which blocks players from getting up there . Don't you think its easy to kill Crota already ? Making him harder to kill wont be a problem with your everyday Crota strategy but , adding a gate keep could make it a little bit more challenging . Bungie did mention that strategies would change up a little bit .
