Kabr and the Aegis :: Cracking the Vault updated 12/6

Im not sure, time is not relative to me as. kinda have chronophobia and hell maybe thats why this interests me so much. I'm going to attempt to reorg all the info so that it acts as a walkthrough with things you could attempt that may yield what we are looking for. I see a lot of posts asking for vids. We do stream but no vids yet because we are tracking down leads from the community but our performance in game isint always the best. Several groups have taken it upon themselves to look too. We are very excited and hopeful overall we guardians will find something. ------------------- [b]original theory::[/b] -kabr the titan went into the vog with his raid team. The creator of the "super good advice" witnessed his "fall" and it drove him insane so he created the gun to 1 keep him company and 2 keep him tied to this world. As long as everyone percieves the existance of the gun he made and he has it the oracles wouldnt be able to blink him from existence. This was suspect but even an entire raid team with the gun equipped can still succumb to oracles. Following the lore further, kabr fashions the shield out of a gorgons head and uses whats left of his light to power it. We thought maybe, be it anything from a cutscene to something similar to the loot cave might still be left to find in the VoG that would allow us to talk to Kabr one last time. In his grimoire he says "If i speak again, i am not kabr" suggesting he may speak to some version of him again be it his darkness self, soul, light, spirit, w/e. His grimoire further states "but somehow they didn't kill him" and goes on to talk about he furnished armor and weapon from vex bodies. The weapon would be the mythoclast. "they have taken my ghost" confirming the ghost found outside the vault isint his. "They are in my blood and brain" suggesting he was taken over. Made into a dark guardian. Very much alive. Following Kabrs grimoire and that of the VoG points out to a path used by Athena (something like that i dont have the grimoire card) and she "thread" a path back out of the vault of glass. The word "thread" being used is important because Atheons will is the "needle" per grimoire and (i forget who was talking) says "i dont not know the shape that comes after" so we spent a lot of time inside the atheon throne room looking for shapes. We also tried the mythclast scope, which theoretically is a Vex eyeball and the pocket infinity which has a star shape reticle. The exotic bounty weapons all come from the team who originally enetered the VoG. So we thought maybe having some of these weapon equipped like we tried with "super good advice" and the oracles still killed us. Mythology and Destiny's grimoire are incredibly identical however. No where are they more identical than when it comes down to the gorgons. They are typically skipped or not done without being seen or done without starting from the beginning it is very rare that an entire team will pass through undetected from the start of the spire all in one go. I also think its very possible that the original raid team from testing, the one that spent an absurd amount of time on the raid and never completed it, were actually looking for the same thing that we are. I still think there could be something in the gorgon maze but with this new info i must say i feel i hit a wall. I am going to stream tonight and attempt the new chest location. Info above. Regarding the first team to complete the raid "1st" and the "tighter knot" -Chronic Draaven (b.net) As Watts said. "The truest form of the Raid awaits. For the first to finish it, there are even more meaningful rewards. Nothing can undo PRIMEGUARD’s accomplishment in completing the opening act first, but Bungie is still watching to see who can unravel the tighter knot." I am absolutely committed to this information and while i admit i jumped the gun my first stream night. I was just as excited to figure some of this out as many of you are. I'm not perfect, ive done my best to give credit where credit is do. Bear in mind. I cant defend myself 24 hours a day. My head feels like its gonna explode from everything im trying to piece together. So there you have and that is the honest answer. I'm choosing to believe in what im looking for. This will be a process. The fact is we are missing something. My biggest fear is you all will stop looking. Please don't let me take away from the possibility that destiny might have a handful of secrets left for us. All goals, unknown goals, and "busted myths" will be posted with their respectable sections. Unknown goals are listed and believed to have possibilities because of lore or because clearing sections with 0 fxck up count yields a chest like from the Templar by not letting him teleport. It would be unreasonable to believe this is the only time this takes place in the vault. [b]::the spire::[/b] -spawning into the spire, you see a group of vex vanish from infront of the dead portal. This dead gate is one of two you see. The second being on a platform before atheon/gatekeeper entrance and after/going down jumping puzzle. known goals - dont let vex control a single sync plate result - unknown unknown possibilities - let all plates be controlled by vex, can they open thier own gate below? Regardless if the vex control 1 plate or none the lights leading up to the Templars Well remain the same. Tested by doing 1 right after the other. ------------------------ [b]Kabrs trials[/b] - is a walk way through the spire door that leads down to the ::first chest:: which is rumored to be skippable and when doing so may trigger a ::chest:: inside the Templars Well. The passage way itself doesnt seem to hold any additional secret passages. ------------------------- [b]The Templars Well[/b] - first off, this area is way to BIG and way to SECRET on top of being way to POLISHED to act only as an additional walk way to The Templar area. Those who have explored it for hours have found nothing. The only question now is did they explore it at the right time or with the right circumstances? Following this path brings you to what is reffered to as a second entrance to The Templar. Essentially you end up on some rocks just west of the normal platform you would stand on before jumping down. The entrance to the well can be done 1 of 2 ways. Inside this room we have only found 2 entrances out. The wall leading to the bloom chest and the obvious giant gate that opens behind the templar after defeating him. If you climb up, over and behind the very center of where the gatekeeper sits before his battle you can drop down to an area where a glitch of the templars relic appears. Pulling it removes the one for the templar and we have no found a way out yet though one is rumored. [b]The battles~~[/b] [u]Defend the Confluxes![/u] -known goals: dont allow any vex to sacrfice. This is difficult and doable. It can take several tries however because soemtimes the vex can warp from extreme distances, past you and end up behind the farthest conflux. Which is bullshxt btw and this should be fixed. -results: unknown

    Can someone record the sounds all the oracles make and the sounds the Templar makes? I have read on some of these theory boards about grim or cards talking about the Templars hymns and oracles dancing. If I could get audio of all them I may be able to piece something together. Also, can the Gorgons be guided somewhere? They chase you if the hear you correct? If so could you not lead them somewhere with gunfire?

      Holy -BLAM!- I didn't read the whole thing, but I'm guessing you think the VoG and Mythology or something are somehow related, and I have a similar thought. I read the Percy Jackson series, and I noticed the Cabal are named like that of Romans. [b][u][i]LEGION[/i][/u][/b]aires, Phalanxes (a phalanx is a shield formation used by the Greeks and probably the Romans as well), and, mainly, [b][i][u]CENTURIONS[/u][/i][/b]. You think this off topic or accurate? I've never been in the VoG, but I doubt it is a straightforward thing. In Greek mythology, the Labyrinth was a maze full of traps, monsters, illusions, and danger, and I'd think the VoG is similar. But, like the VoG, the Labyrinth was very useful. It could take you anywhere in the world, possibly leading you to riches. The VoG doesn't always give you good loot, now does it? And even with powerful friends, you don't always make it. BAM.

      • Duplicate post from me on another thread so it will be seen**** ----> HORIZON!!!!!!!!!!!!! So a friend of mine and I have some ideas from the riddles Horizon has posted and other theories out there. We have all heard about how people have become immune to the Gorgon Gaze and we believe we have found out why, and we think it may be part of the missing puzzle with the gorgons, whatever that may be. So during the oracles before the Templar, we all know that you can get marked from the fanatics and oracles and cleanse in the well. What some people don’t know is that the well disappears after any certain person has been cleansed 3 times. Not many people know this since we all obviously try to not get marked. The idea we have and have seen is that if you can get each team member to be marked and cleansed 3 times in the light well. On the 3rd time getting cleansed, it will require some team work and careful planning since it despawns. We are hoping that we can be cleansed after becoming marked by oracles and the whole team just sit in the well for the third marking – we have NOT confirmed if this part works, if it does not, you will have to get marked by fanatics and work together on everyone getting cleansed at the same time. The grimoire cards clearly point to bathing in light and that it will cause immunity. If you can manage to get all of this done, and keep everyone alive and get to the Gorgon Maze, you SHOULD be immune to the gaze. It will still show the gaze, but you won’t die. This leads us to our second theory. The gorgons become stronger when you take one out and they become “immune” to that type of damage. Our thought is that their immunity is to all types of damage that was used to kill them, so you have each team member with immunity on and take out 1 gorgon at a time with ONLY a certain type of damage, void, solar, arc…. (3 cleanses equals 3 immunities) and then switch weapons for each new gorgon, it should trigger something once you have taken out 3 maybe all– at least we hope. I have seen several theory posts about a special gorgon showing up or something related to medusa. So maybe these two riddles that Horizon is referring to here, could be part of getting that gorgon to show. Feel free to post up with findings or anything. THESE ARE THEORIES AND NOT CONFIRMED OUTCOMES! My GT on 360 is my username if anyone wants to go hunting!

        • Because i like this post and i really havent got time to search every other post related to the vault, i feel its appropriate to add this here, i dont intend to clutter this post with random stuff not related to the vault so if you feel it needs deleting or moving thats up to you. (and its quite long but bear with me) So, i unlocked the Thunderlord from the nightfall and read the grimoire. "Customized with an experimental induction core, the Thunderlord is a heavy machine gun built for the delivery of sustained punishment. The weapon's history and mechanism are both shrouded in ritualistic awe. Each round fired is another word in the legend - and the Guardians who bear the Thunderlord will be immortalized in song. "They rest quiet on fields afar...for this is no ending, but the eye." - Hymn of the Thunderlord Seeing as there is no tune indicated i thought id do a bit of a search to see if i could find any more information, what i found was not what i expected at all. I cannot find the hymn or string of words that they refer to, however, what i did find was a band called thunderlord who released an album called "Hymns Of Wrath In This Metal Age". Not my sort of music at all, and you cant understand the words when you listen to it (well at least i cant). So i found the lyrics. The first song on the album is called thunderlord and i have pasted it below. Then i came to song number 7, (I actually didnt realise it was Bungies favourite number until i was writing this post) its called the road and i quote. "You run in the dark You can't see the light You are lost Where you go? Where you are? Are you know? If you can't see Don't move again You'll lost again In the dark The road is lost Don't search a sign Don't move in the dark Is useless to search Your road Wait till' the sun Cover the land With his light The road will appear On front of your eyes Just have to watch Think were you are Where you want go Can you see now?           • Something that needs to be checked! When you wipe in the gorgon maze. Watch the time elapsed timer. When it resets to Zero, right before respawn of the fire team, it resets to a random number between 1 and 7. It's almost always different and it is very quick. Watch it next time you are there. Maybe that number indicates the amount of gorgons needing to be killed for a chest to spawn.

              • My clan/raid team went down into the Gorgons maze this weekend. We looked for secret areas or entrances, unfortunately we didn't see any. We examined the Gorgons closely but did not see any difference that was obvious. However, as we started to kill Gorgons, we noticed something interesting. When the Gorgons "become stronger", certain things happen. Sometimes immune Gorgons still take damage. Sometimes when the Gorgons are supposed to become immune to damage, they do not. There have also been times when certain people do not die from a Gorgons gaze. Need to investigate further to see if any of these things are leads or possibly glitches or perhaps normal occurrences. Side note, to those saying hunters are useless in the raid, I would like to see you use invisibility and run right past a Gorgon unseen. Hunter master race for Gorgon maze. That is all lol

                  • Not sure if anyone has posted this but i came across a video on you tube yesterday that would suggest to me that atheon is not the end of the raid and that in fact you can escape the vault of glass. In the video instead of them going into the vault they head over towards where Zydron the gate gate lord would normally be. Surprise surprise, the enemies in this area are now level 30, i have been to the gate where you summon zydron and nothing happens but surely there has to be something in this, otherwise why would the enemies in this area be upgraded. I cant find the video i watched but if you load into the raid on hard mode then head for campus 9, when you get through all the enemies will be upgraded.

                    • Have you ever tried a WHOLE fireteam using vex to kill Atheon? The description to the vex leads me to believe it has something to do with killing Atheon seeming it is very vague and mentions a loop in time, Atheon is a time conflux, right? I'm sure I'm into something, if you want to try I have vex and my GT is the same as my username

                          I have several bits you may be interested in bud. The other day a fire-team and I had given up on the hard raid before getting to the oracles check point and decided to mess around. I found that if you travel all the way to the right side of the Templars room (if looking at the Templars gate) and jump to the hobgoblin platforms, you can work your way to the rock canyon on the furthest right side of Templar area (hard to explain), but this is where something nutty happened. My whole team had died and were watching me. As I landed on this canyon the "please return - countdown" message disappeared. I eventually climbed into this little crevice between two rocks... And when I did this... The entire landscape changed... Everything suddenly seemed like a desert terrain. There was a lot of "Oh my f*cking god, XBox Record That!" Going on. To make sure it wasn't just some freak incident, we repeated this... It happened every time. It felt like the game might have just registered as me entering the past/mars portal, but still... Very weird. Anyway, A member of our fire-team also brought up a very interesting theory. When you leave the Templars Well you're on a useless cliff... It seems useless. But what if Bungie took an idea from one of their previous titles (Halo)... What if we have to take a "Leap of Faith". If anyone remembers in Halo we had to take a "leap of faith" onto several invisible platforms. The reason this theory was brought up is because I mentioned that there might be severely paths to literally skip everything. We already know of 3 paths and we already know of 1 that can be used to skip an entire part of the Vault (the one that skips the Jumping puzzle) Just some stuff to consider.

                            2 thoughts: First, can a gorgon see you and you not die? Seen 7 times? Second, can you just continue without killing the templar?

                            • It would be cool if something was hidden from sight in the Atheon room and the only way to see it was through the Mythoclast scope, or the Pocket Infinity reticle. Like a hidden entrance or something.

                                Yesterday my friends and I tried killing a Gorgon then running to the possible chest spawn point on the second route on the platform section before Atheon. But unfortunately nothing, but on the other hand we did wipe once. Maybe clear the Gorgons without a wipe and destroy one then get to that point.
