Destiny may cause divorce

Ok I know that it is probably ridiculous to air your "dirty laundry" on the internet but I am in dire need of suggestions answers, or counseling lol. I have been playing video games since 1979 and my wife knows my number one hobby is video games, I work a lot of hours and have a stressful job as I manage six different businesses in ONE office by myself! That being said I "unwind" of an evening by playing destiny. Let me get to the point here folks so your not snoring at the end of my whining heh. I joined a group that were trying to play through the vault of glass and she overheard a female voice on my headset and completely flipped out on me. "now you have a girlfriend to play games with you I hope your happy" was her statement. And continued to badger me so I had to turn my MIC off so the other players couldn't hear her yelling at me. I was extremely embarrassed because I know the other players heard the first part of her yelling. As a side note I have been with her for eleven years and we two kids together, and no I have never cheated on her EVER I have morals. So she has no reason to distrust me. She now checks to see if I am talking with a female on the headset every time she walks into the room, I then offer to hand her the MIC to check. I feel like I am not supposed to even do what I have done for 35+ years which is play games and destiny requires you to have other members play along side you in missions and or strikes, have even explained to her I needed a group of six players along for the VOG so I am at a loss here. Am I doing something wrong by playing with females on a damn video game? I don't think so! Any thoughts advice you can give me (male or female) is greatly appreciated... Many thanks for your time!

  • You haven't done anything wrong. But clearly your wife thinks you have. Might be something that you should dig a bit deeper into. It sounds like she has trust issues. But i think it is more like my wife. She gets annoyed with the fact that video games are always a great way for me to relax and enjoy myself. The downside is that she does not really play and my son is to young to play yet. She could just be upset that you aren't spending what she considers to be enough time with the family. I have the same problem so to combat this. I had to compromise a bit. I won't play video games until after my son goes to bed. I get home around five and he goes to bed around 7:30-8:00. so i lose a couple of hours during the week before I can get on destiny. the plus side is that the weekends are mine. The plus side to only one of us working. so my advise is find out why she seems so upset that there happened to be a female in your party during the VoG
