No one from Bungie seems to be able to clarify wether the final launch of Destiny will be more than 3 player co-op so I shall wait for the game to be released and read the reviews before buying this title.
Three player co-op might be ok for some, but I have played tonnes of titles since Halo 2 with my same 3 friends and I do not think it is ok to exclude one of them like a leper whilst the rest of us play, we did this once with Call of Juarez: The Cartel - it sucked, never again. I'm hoping that the beta was restricted to 3 players for the missions purely so Bungie could test fireteam volumes and how it handled it, after all it seemed strange that fireteams could go upto 6, but it's hard to guage with resounding silence on this issue.
As it stands, this is what I got from the Beta: Destiny, the massively multiplayer game, that's only 3 player co-op.

well when you invited someone to your fire team, it showed a max of i think 12 or 18 players a team so probably will be able to play with more than 3 people

Edited by Phil 421: 8/15/2014 5:41:45 PM3-player story/crucible fireteams Raid and large crucible 6 player fireteams and Nightfalls haven't heard but the info is probably out there. This is the start would kind of suck to put this game off then they make it the way you wanted but you're 6 months, a year, 2 years behind everyone else. Just saying

I felt that in the beta, many of the mission maps were expressly designed to "fit" 3 players. At times, corridors were really too tight for even 3. Battle areas, like the spot in the strike where you face waves of fallen+hive, and the area where the encounter with sepiks prime takes place are even still too small for 3 players. I say this taking into consideration having space to move around, space for enemies to manuever and spawn. There is a very masterful balance in the encounters that I envision would be destroyed utterly if suddenly 4 people were in the encounter. A balance that would not be restored by pumping up the enemies' hp or throwing more mobs in the mix; actually, "overbalancing" or trying to hastily compensate for 4 player coop that was designed from the ground up with 3 players in mind could make the experience puke worthy. That said, I'm actually sorry this issue is dividing up your your gaming group or causing you to pass on this game, bc tome it is very easy to see why it can be all or nothing with a gaming group. Its not easy to find a steady group of buds to play with, especially 4, and especially bc up until this game, 4 was the perfect number. Why bungie didn't feel that was the case 5 years ago (or whenever they chose 3 as the number).
