no. it all depends about the maturity of the people playing the game. Obviously the rating isn't universal. it is not something serious enough to punish you in that way. if this was enforced, i'm pretty sure an insane amount of people would disagree.

If games had been enforced, I don't think we would have a Destiny. Because I'm pretty sure a lot of players who play Halo, CoD, etc...are under 17.

It's not the law's choice on how parents decide what their kids play. You are not allowed to tell someone how to parent their kids then fine them because they don't listen.

8 RepliesI still don't understand why this is anything other than an issue of bad parenting. It's the parents fault if they don't monitory their kids actions relating to video games. There should be laws made about other more pressing issues. NOT about game maturity levels. [spoiler]I've played "M" games since I was 14 I've done nothing wrong criminally or gotten grades lower than Cs. It's because my parents taught me the difference between right and wrong, and what's real and what's fake.[/spoiler]

ESRB is a reference point for parents...a child can buy an M rated game if the parent is there and gives informed consent

Um if Destiny had this don't you agree Bungie would lose most of their community due to the fact that most kids these days play though games and most of the halo games (discluding Halo 4 and Halo Wars.) get played and bought by parents for their kid for their enjoyment/entertainment and don't get me wrong I get your argument and its great but kids have these days have changed and were all soon going to face that we can't stop them as much as parents/brothers/sisters/gurdians used to do.

4 RepliesYea and also if your 16 and watch a rater R movie you go to Jail (even if you buy, rent, or just watch it on tv!) this would be better also if u listen to explict music your parents should be fined even if they gave u permmission to watch a pg13 or rater R movie on tv!

And if they did enforce a law which will probably never happen any way it would be a fine, and it would probably be like $20 and it will all go to Gamestop
