10 RepliesWell I'm glad ex post facto laws are illegal in the USA because then I'd be given life imprisonment for having been playing Halo and other M-rated games since I was 4 or 5. Which is like 11 or 12 years.

The ESRB says
#Gaming
Technically, to buy the game they have to have a parent with them if under 17. The parent would be agreeing that the kid is allowed to play the game that is being bought.
No that will never happen
Thats dumb.

2 RepliesNo leave the jail part in but for the kids instead. We make a special jail where all they can play and watch are the extremely kiddie games. Of course we need to have a special system to sort out those who are mature enough to play and not. Maturity is based upon state of mind not age. I have seen 20 year olds have temper tantrums like a 5 year old. We need a standardized test to sort it out. And they have to take it every year until they are 18. If you pass the test you can play any game (asking as parents allow it of course ) without going to jail. Now that's a plan.

so overall what i'm getting that we need to do what the eastern side with their game by use social security number or something close to that to make sure people at certain age ple certain games.... games wont even be selling if this was implemented.

1 ReplyDestiny hasn't been confirmed to be rated Mature, for all we know, Destiny could turn out being rated Teen.
-
1 ReplyI agree, this is another great idea.
-
1 ReplyIn Other News: Illegally downloaded games skyrocket due to the new game rating enforcement. C'mon choose which you'd rather see more of.
-
2 RepliesI disagree

While maturity can surely be effected by age, it isn't only determined by age. It is 100% the parents job to control what their child can play. I bet you can't tell by my diction, but I'm actually 16. That means technically I wouldn't be allowed to play these games, but my parents trust my maturity. I actually had to prove to them that I was mature enough for GTA 5, by saying if they thought my behavior changed in a negative way, they had the right to take away the game. Really it's about the relationship between parent and child. Tl;dr 0/10 would not read again

3 RepliesNice to see the lesser known trolls are trying to get their name out there keep up the good work.

I agree that this is an issue of parenting, I, like many others, have been playing games outside of their "official" age ratings since I was fairly young. I got the games because my parents decided I was mature enough to handle the subject matter. Also, I was taught to be respectful to others which really helps everyone enjoy the multi player experience so much more.

3 RepliesThat my friend is so dumb. Like other people have said...FREEDOM

1 ReplyBut your missing one small pesky thing called freedom Mr. Troll

6 RepliesAnother one of these? :P the mute button exists.

Maybe, at least if its online

1 ReplyUhh... No I think we should focus on the parents that try to faith heal their kids cancer before we focus on Teens playing mature video games.
-
This would decrease game sales and would be pointless. How can the government tell parents what they let their children play. and violent games don't even affect a teen
