Yeah so, With the delay of Shadow and Order and the upcoming Sandbox Changes with new RAD Gear its very likely Bungie makes some adjustments to the current Sandbox. This will probably be also the last time Bungie will make Sandbox Changes for quite a while. Bungie is already teasing a Bit that they want to Go All Out for the RAD Gear so with that in mind i think we will See insane stuff. What i want to Focus on is how Bungie can bring back Primary Ammo weapons and make them relevant again to use them instead of Specials. The big Problem is that Most archetypes are Just to weak compared to Specials. Especially in Higher end Content where you have more Majors+ and even redbars are chunkier. The only archetypes that are somewhat doing ok (depending If good perkpool) are Pulses, Smg and Auto Rifles. HC, Sidearms, Scouts etc. are insanely weak compared to those. What my Idea for Bungie is to Change: Take an example of Choir of One. Probably the strongest Special in the Game with a similarity to Primaries. What makes it so good is that it can Deal with both Majors and minors very efficiently in Higher end Content. Most redbars are one to 2 shot and Majors usually 4-6 shot. This is a good Baseline for a weapon to handle those enemy types. Everything above Majors should only be handled with Specials or heavy. I.e Minibosses, Champions etc. So how would that Look Like for Primaries: Scout example: Probably the closest archetypes to Choir of One when comparing Rate of Fire and Damage. These are usually hard hitting, slow/medium firing weapons Like choir of one. Make them also 1-2 shot Body kill Minors and 4-6 shot Majors. This would make Primaries feel way more powerful and meaningful. Remember: Primariy Ammo weapons should be used to Deal with Minors and Major Combatants (Ad Clearing weapon Ammo Type for Most ad Clear based Combatants). For everything Higher than that in enemy strength you should be using your Special/heavy Ammo weapons. This Identity got lost somewhere on the way to todays destiny Sandbox. So Bungie pls. So your testings on that and maybe try to make the Ammo types more distinguishable from another again. Thx for Reading.
