Fire and Ice Quest

I’m a returning Destiny player who came back for the Renegades update. I planned on completing as much of the Renegades content as I could before putting the game down for a while and returning when something interested me, as usual. I was really enjoying the game—a lot of changes were made, and many of the previous problems I faced as an older player were resolved. Little did I know fate would have something else in store for me: the FIRE AND ICE quest. I’ve probably spent about 3–5 hours on this quest, hoping I was just getting bad RNG in regard to balancing the scales (of Light and Darkness, or whatever they’re called). So I played over and over again, hoping I’d get the right orbs to drop so I could complete the mission, but they never did. At this rate, I’m tired and frustrated—I can’t bear to play anymore. I’ll be uninstalling shortly, and I hate to say that I won’t be returning for quite a long time.

  • kill the taken captain then kill the second taken captain, drops white, throw two at one GIANT orb thing then two at the other Kill one cabal captain then kill one taken captain, drops black orbs, then through two an two then repeat again to get black orbs kill one cabal captain then one taken captain, it's easier on normal mode

  • Yes, it is confusing, and frustrating, what you do is this: To get light orbs: kill two mini bosses of the same faction, so cabal and cabal centurion, taken and taken captain To get dark orbs: kill two of opposing factions, so cabal and taken mini boss, or taken and cabal mini boss

There’s 0 RNG to it. Simply kill 2 of the same enemy for 1 color…..or 2 different enemies for the other color. There’s multiple guides/videos that explain this if you need help.
