I have downloaded the new PS5 software update after the PS network came back online March 21, 2026 and I’m still having problems logging into destiny servers on the destiny game and the Destiny 2 game. I followed the troubleshooting procedures PS network provided rebuilt. The database cleared out the coach and I still cannot get on deaf servers. Please fix the problem Bungie. I have no issues with any of the other PS5 games that require PS network connection. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

1 ReplyHello there, Thank you for reaching out Here are the most effective steps that have helped Destiny players in very similar situations: 1. Confirm it’s not a current outage Check Destiny server status Visit Bungie’s official Destiny Server and Update Status page: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049199271-Destiny-Server-and-Update-Status If there’s active maintenance, you may just have to wait it out. Check PSN status for your region Go to: https://status.playstation.com Make sure “Gaming and social” and “Account management” are green. Optional sanity check: Look at Destiny’s page on Downdetector: https://downdetector.com/status/destiny/ to see if there’s a large spike in reports. Right now, it shows no widespread Destiny outage, which points to a more targeted PSN/account issue on some consoles. 2. Do the PS5-specific fixes that helped other Destiny players You already rebuilt the database and cleared cache, which is great. Based on past PS5 + Destiny issues tied to PSN updates, these extra steps have been key: Restore PS5 licenses (very important) This has specifically fixed Destiny PS5 “can’t connect” issues after system updates for many players: On PS5: Settings → Users and Accounts → Other → Restore Licenses Let it finish, then fully power off your PS5 (not Rest Mode), wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on. Try launching Destiny 2 again. Fully sign out/in of PSN on the console Settings → Users and Accounts → Sign Out Reboot the PS5. Sign back into your PSN account and retry Destiny 1 / Destiny 2. Power-cycle your network hardware Turn off PS5. Unplug modem/router for 30–60 seconds. Plug them back in, wait until everything is fully online. Turn PS5 back on and try again. Test with another PSN user on the same console (if possible) Create or use a second PSN account on the same PS5. Launch Destiny 2 under that account. If that works, the issue is likely specific to your main PSN account’s licenses/verification, and Sony support will need to look at it. Delete and reinstall Destiny 2 (last resort on console side) Your characters and progress are stored on Bungie’s servers, not locally. Delete the Destiny 2 application, reinstall it fresh, let all updates finish, and then try to sign in again.
