Marathon Feedback: Fashion Flex + PvE Nights for Longevity
Hey Bungie team,
I've been hooked on Marathon for 5 days straight—it's brutally good and finally clicking, but I worry its hardcore edge is capping its potential. Here are three features that could build hype, revenue, and retention without diluting the extraction core:
1. Runner Cosmetics & Bespoke Finishers (Revenue Driver)
Expressive Shells: Make runner shells as customizable as Destiny Guardians—patterns, colors, attachments, animated effects, faction ornaments. Preserve silhouettes for readability, but let us flex hard.
Signature Finishers: Bespoke post-kill animations tied to shells/seasons (e.g., kick-off-roof, explosive takedown). Universal ones too, but let us buy premium packs in the shop.
Why it works: Fashion is evergreen revenue (people pay for drip). Builds clips, identity, and excitement—turn "stealth mercs" into runway stars.
2. PvE Nights (Twice Weekly, Onslaught-Style)
Mode: Trios defend an arena against escalating PvE waves (like Destiny's Onslaught). Moderate loot drops + faction rep. Risk-free (no full gear loss, or PvE-only inventory).
Schedule: Time-gated, twice weekly (e.g., Wed/Fri evenings). 30-45 min sessions.
Progression: Gains wipe seasonally with the game, so it's casual buildup for PvPvE risk.
Why it works: Safe space to learn guns/builds, farm baseline loot, play with friends. Hooks casuals/logins without touching core extraction stakes.
These keep Marathon elite while giving everyone a reason to show up weekly. Cosmetics fund it all. Please consider—happy to iterate!
