Change my mind.
Opening arguments below.
1) No hackers (priceless)
2) Costs way less ($500 vs. $5000)
3) Evens out playing field (There is a limit to how much money I can throw at a console to make it play better, so the difference between the "best" and "worst" gaming setups is smaller.)
4) Xbox has much better built-in LFG and chat.

Neither is inherently superior to the other; they're designed for different things. A console is generally a streamlined, easily accessible experience. It's as simple as plugging the console in and starting up the game. Meanwhile, a PC is more robust and versatile, but usually requires more setup, as well as needing to pay attention to things like specs, and having the knowledge how to upgrade your machine. It just depends what experience you're after.

If I’m playing a shooter PvP, console. You don’t see crazy cheats with console vs PC. Nearly everything else… PC.
-
There's no mods easily accessible, no steam

3 RepliesXbox is trash and so are their business practices, you cant sit there and act like Microsoft has not been ripping you off with subscription fees simply to play, but at the end of the day you gave them free money for nothing at all. Also the only time ive had an account hacked was on xbox because their security is pure dogshit, add to that their customer service is dog -blam!- wrapped in catshit. I pay lower prices, can upgrade way more easily, and I never think of console peasants at all. Cope harder.

Edited by amazing_month041: 3/5/2026 8:56:30 AM1. "No hackers" isn’t true because consoles still have things like Cronus and XIM or network exploits so cheating still exists in both PvE and PvP games 2. The $500 vs $5000 comparison is exaggerated because you don’t need $5000 for a good gaming PC because solid PC can be $1000–1500 so you only go higher if you want things consoles can’t do like ray tracing with higher FPS or path tracing or full VR or very high FPS or "realistic" graphics 3. The "even playing field" argument doesn’t really hold up because console generations already create advantages like someone on a PlayStation 5 has clear performance advantages over someone on a PlayStation 4 4. Xbox LFG isn’t unique anymore because discord LFG servers exist and they’re often bigger and faster than built in systems anyway

7 RepliesConsoles go behind the TV & simply turn on & off with zero issues ever. I don't care about anything else, simplicity & being able to game in my living room is all that matters. I also game upstairs in the spare room, so I've a console in their too. Neither would work with a pc. I'm older though & if i was younger, single, more space & more money id probably be on pc, but then when I was younger I preferred gambling, women, & having a life, so didn't game at all, so maybe not.

$5k???? I could literally have an air conditioner installed inside my pc. lol if it makes you feel better to believe that a pc that can easily out-perform a console is $5k go ahead and believe it. but, as others have mentioned, you can get one for ALOT less.
-
No data miners! Remember before pc when there were actually secrets in the game? Whisper of the worm was probably the end of it. Can’t have anything nice anymore.

11 Replies5000 for a pc. You can get a decent one for 1000
-
Also every single game is better with a controller instead of a stupid keyboard so when pc people spend 5000 dollars on their pc setup they gotta spend another 50 dollars to get a controller 😂😂😂 And you need to install an intivirus , download this program , run that , blablabla . Pc is so much worse in every way , yet every single streamer is on pc cause they have their easy to hide cheats , wallhacks , vpn lobbies , peddles , cronus , installed hacks and all cause they cannot compete with top players .

1 ReplyI don’t think it’s better, but I do find gaming on consoles more convenient and generally less hassle than my PC.

Yeah but I like glowing glass box.

3 RepliesSomeone could argue all tho points you made. But here is a free one. 5) Ease of use.

Edited by Franco-Nevada: 3/5/2026 4:04:02 AMAgreed. It's probably worse in the graphics department, but all your points are valid. Specifically I believe there is rampant use of net limiting by PC players (in both PvP and PvE) and that is something hard for console players to do. They can do it indirectly by pumping their home LAN full of traffic, but it's rather clunky to implement. For the record I experimented with this briefly 20 years ago when I was playing Battlefield: Bad Company on a PS3. Hooked my console up to a network hub and then ran my desktop PC into the same hub. Used a packet capture program to get the server IP address, then opened up 10 or 20 instances of UOTRACE (a little utility program provided to us by EA technical support) and set them to ping the server continuously during the match. The result is that it made me a bullet sponge, I could run and gun while taking less damage. The downside was that it made the game laggy for everyone else, especially the players on my team. The match would start out 12v12 and players would start dropping out left and right. Next thing you know it was 9v7 or something. I tested it out a couple times and reported the results to the regulars in the official EA BF:BC forum. I also posted a complete spreadsheet of all the server IPs and corresponding DNS names which indicated their geographical location. Then I canned the whole thing and never used it again. I'm sure I still have all the packet capture logs, spreadsheets, etc. in a folder somewhere. FWIW I suspect there are a lot of IP-based shenanigans going on today and I have a theory about one of them. I've noticed that sometimes going into a comp/Trials match either before it starts or shortly thereafter I will get a PSN friend request or Bungie friend request from someone on the other team. I don't respond, but have noticed several times I will then start getting a "Contacting Destiny server" warning message across the bottom of my screen. My theory is that they are somehow able to get my IP by sending the friend request and then use it to do a DoS attack, basically spam my IP with garbage traffic. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but it has happened enough times to catch my attention. And it's kind of weird to send out a PSN friend request to someone on the other team before the match has even started.

I play competitive pvp games only on my console when possible cuz of cheats; but man; PC games visually are so much better. Being able to be at maxed out settings for games vs low/med on console. 1) Better Frame rate 2) Don't need 5k machine at all 3) Better accuracy with arm vs thumbs

1 ReplyAs someone who plays both, console is definitely better most of the time. PC beats it when: You work away and can take your laptop with you to play on the go When you’re only a PvE player and have an expensive PC that makes the game look amazing.
-
10 RepliesYou obviously haven’t played on pc

All of this is cope. The only thing console has over pc is that you can still play D1

some weapons are tailored for console/controller... for example I cannot use m17 fast talker on PC.. I've tried it just goes everywhere no holding it steady... and I clearly see others using it fine.. many examples of this as console is inherently inferior control-wise to PC (miniaturized arcade knob or laser 360 movement.. hmm) Bungie's lack of attention to detail and general ineptness of the new crew leads to this crap.. they simply dont care... and want to stop supporting this game but no one is noticing this at Sony as a need to offboard Destiny from this loser crew up to some squad that would care for it... -
I'm playing on consoles, but that's 0/0 lame s bait though lmfao
