D2 is dead in the water..
Struggling for breath & doubling down on sweat end game..
The exploration is gone. The lore is nothing but tabs, our player does nothing but chores, then stands around waiting for other ppl to speak.
And more often than not, it's some soppy relationship crap.
The Final Shape was emotional nonsense. We haven't had a decent antagonist since Witch Queen. Savathun had weight & meaning..
The game has been played right out for the 1% sweaty 'community' that take 'holidays' to tell the Bungo Lords what they want, not what the game needs.
The smucky portal & the hideous revive system & the -blam!- excuse for challenges (stick a timer on.. it'll be fine) has sucked all the joy & flow out of this game.
All they do is jus high tune end game sweat fests & ignore everything else..

Came back 2 weeks ago because man, my friends BEGGED me to play with them, and then one just sent me Renegades... Felt like I owed it to them to come shoot stuff. Shocked myself by having fun lightsabering everything to death. Stayed because dagnabbit, this season's fun to play at least, for me. Even went into Trials, got 7 wins in a row and some good weapons and armor... Been fun. But, I did quit for months. Uninstalled D2 and stopped thinking about it. And it helped. I spent time playing stuff I enjoyed and found FUN! HellDivers 2, Space Marine 2, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance... Uh... 2 again... Lots of sequals... 🤔. Point being, if D2 makes you angry and depressed,take a break and play games for fun again.

I don’t agree with everything you said… But I do wish the lore was something more than reading stuff. I guess it’s better now than it was in D1 with the grimoire though. I love when they make cut scenes, even the newer ones where it’s just the stone looking characters in still poses. Bungie really does a good job with cinematics and I wish there was a better way to see them portray the lore that way. I’m sure it’s a cost/resource obstacle though…

We have herd of the D2 killer games (like anthem, RIP very soon) the developers are clueless and out of touch (this is the most accurate reason) and still, D2 is like a roach after thermonuclear war, just keeps on going…

Everything after beyond light was a flop . Destiny 2 did not need crafted weapons , removed planets and the activities in it , removed raids , battlegrounds , prismatic subclass , new armor stats , tier 5 dogwater and especially portal stuff . That is all destiny 3 nonsense . Destiny 2 players can not play destiny 2 content anymore that came out in destiny 2 and that is what destroyed the game . New players can not expierience the epicness what made destiny 2 great in the first place and that is sad , very sad ...

Edited by Dooodley: 1/9/2026 9:11:49 AMI still want to play it but with how the Portal currently is I feel like I'm spending most of my time - which is significally less than before - on old locations, fighting enemies at fun deltas with no timers and revives. It's not going to be sustainable for long though.

They have all their content and didn’t start drip feeding small expansions out at world of Warcraft prices TWICE A -blam!- YEAR
