Instead of all this armor rework -blam!- for the remaining 20k active players, we could have gotten
A brand new campaign, like an actual good one. With NPCs that move and interact with the -blam!- environment. You know, like gears of war for example. Or even your own games. Like halo reach.
No more over the comm -blam!-
Brand new fresh pvp, that’s balanced, not half baked, with loads of new maps and reskin the old favourites for a glow up. Maybe take some inspiration from Marvel Rivals and OW and add an escort the payload mode
Some nice dungeons, a good raid (a fun one, like oryx. With boss fights and some jumping puzzles), stop with all the over the top mechanics -blam!-. I just wanna shoot stuff, maybe do some light puzzles and kill a cool boss. This is an FPSMMO lite.
Add on top 2025 graphics. Brand new weapons + weapon animations, and a returning playerbase. Destiny 3 with a solid 9/10 campaign + balanced PvP would have made bank
Why take the risk with that other game? I actually can’t remember the name. The one you been working on with bad graphics and weird non binary characters in a very niche market
Genuinely don’t get it.

3 RepliesDestiny 3 was deemed to high a risk and it still is especially with bungie in its current state. A Destiny 3 would take about 5 years and more if they built a new engine for it.
-
Because they were too busy making a cake for one of their content creators.
-
Making a D3 would entail pausing development on D2(the only thing that makes them money). Thats just not an option. Marathon is the hope for a second profitable game then COULD, if it goes well, support them during that long stretch of developing a new game in the series. A D3 would be neat. But I don't think they can for money reasons.
-
1 ReplyJudging by how this expansion turned out, they have no idea what made Destiny fun and engaging for players. Every other game they have tried to release after almost all the OG Bungie creatives have left has been a failure. They are flogging a dead horse at this point.
-
Destiny 3!!! * Brought to you by the company that used to have the devs who made Halo!!

1 ReplyEdited by IamJophus: 7/21/2025 8:47:55 PMDo you actually think they're capable of doing more or doing a better job than we've seen over the past couple of years specifically? "that other game" - you mean Marathon? Right - they should bring that entire dev team back and have them work on D3. Marathon has failed before even launching - do you really think the team that created that dumpster fire can build a better D3? I don't think so... IMO, Bungie still hasn't had the enema that they need in order to improve for the future.

Greed..... FUNFACT: The CEO of Bungie has a job lined up higher up at SONY. Weird huh?
-
Because enough of you clapped for the DCV years ago. We warned you.

1 Reply" We didn't feel like it if you don't like what we do to our game go play Something Else." BUNGIE Week later We at bungee decided to ban a handful players because they don't kiss our -blam!-. We at bungee believes that our players are not allowed to think for themselves you play and obey you are our slave grind forever -blam!-. Our plan for the next expansion is that all of your gear will become 0 stats and 0 power you have to grind your entire build every season for the rest of your life this is our dream welcome to bungie hell.

3 RepliesAs soon as I heard about the systemic changes coming into this expansion, my thought was, why didnt they just make this into D3 without the added bloat of the existing D2. Give D2 one last good balance patch, and let it ride as D1 is. Why change the whole game this late into the game. Especially when those who dont really like the new systems have no way of going back to the D2 that they loved. Now we have a game with so many holes in it, constant stutters, crashes, mechanical malfunctions in activities, and I dont think that they know how or have the capability of actually fixing it. Since the source of much of the code is almost a decade old, and has been twisted different directions in each expansions... and the people that wrote it, probably are not there anymore. There are things that I like about the update, but many more that I dislike. Especially the FEEL of the game. I show good framerates, but the game feels horrible and not smooth. Cleaning up the game should have been the main priority, and cleaning the slate and going with a D3 would have been the best way to do it. As it is right now, with only Portal actually having a reward path, it feels like D2 outside of Portal is downgraded and completely left behind. So now we have a buggy mess, that we cant even run old content without the negatives of what EoF brought into the game.

“because it’s a Marathon, Not a Sprint” ~ My controller when simply running is bugged in Crucible.

2 RepliesWhy make Destiny 3 when people still pay $100 each year for the shite they call content?
-
I see Sony taking Destiny's talents elsewhere. I think Bungie blew it and may soon be closed.
-
1 ReplyBecause Destiny 3 would have the same leadership and same problems as Destiny 2.
-
Because the spaghetti code that runs Destiny 2 is so convoluted that it would be a nightmare trying to replicate it in an entirely new game.
-
3 RepliesDestiny 3 would mean the removal of everything we've paid for and there's absolutely nothing saying it would be any better. Unlike some I'd like to keep the stuff I got and not have it taken away again. The biggest issue is Destiny 2 has (had) loads of fun content, but it keeps getting vaulted because Bungo doesn't know (Or the most likely reason, is inexperienced) in optimizing file sizes. The graphics are completely fine and in all honestly don't need to be any better, as they still hold up to this day compared to stuff like D1. Though character models could use a face lift as they still look like clay at points
-
2 RepliesYou think adding a different number to the name but keeping the same incompetent people in charge of the game would make a difference?
-
You already know this answer. They ignored the devs and the players feedback & forced the devs to make an extraction shooter that nobody wants
-
They are not making Destiny 3 BECAUSE the eververse store has too much content already. They want to cash out on the work all the employees, that are no more in the company, has created. The current one are not listening to players feedback and make everything worse. They are scared to make a new game and rely on old content only
-
1 ReplyThey broke af yo
-
Can't be done because Bungie retained the right people. ;)

There have been plenty of posts like this over recent years. My question is. Why on earth do you think a Destiny 3 would somehow provide everything you want and that pvp would suddenly be transformed? This developer has had since 2014 to get pvp right. Trust me there have been complaints about pvp going right back to the original launch of Destiny 1. Calls in 2014 were for dedicated servers. In 2025 how has that worked out? It is naive to expect Bungie would somehow produce better, more acceptable content with a brand new game than they are producing now. Worse they would charge a premium rate for what would be similar quality content. They would also reissue into the game and re-sell over time the same exotics we have had in both D1 & D2.
-
This is destiny 3, you just kept your vault and toons you already had.
-
It didn't even need to be D3. They could have rebranded what was as D2: The Light and Dark Saga and launched the current stuff separately as D2: Edge of Fate (preferably on current gen tech). Would have used the same amount of drive space as it (inexplicably) does now.
-
I said the exact same thing after about 20 minutes of this expansion. They should've just made a new game. All that stuff I spent the last 5 years grinding for? Useless now and that is farking stupid. I'd have been all over a new game but this update sucks, new zone looks like purple tinted crap, and I got other games to play.
-
That takes time and effort they don’t want to do…
