Bungie promotes the event to hype the new raid, but the leading team hides the screen. This is dumb, and Bungie should not allow this for the contest, this is beyond the competition, in fact, this is another bad reputation for the game and for the community.
Stream with CB and Evan was so cool, but the team Who first finished the 3 bosses decided would be ok to watch nothing.
For real, sometomes this community is so -blam!-.

3 RepliesEdited by ForeverLaxx: 7/20/2025 8:43:36 PMYou do realize that you don't even have to be streaming the game to win World's First, right? Some random team of nobodies could come out of nowhere while you were busy clapping your feet together while Llama failed another DPS phase or Tyraxe/aTide (or whatever his name is) missed clearing by pixels. It's Bungie's fault that people think Contest is about streamers (and, truthfully, it 99% is) but there's nothing stopping a team just playing the dungeon/raid, no stream, and winning the whole thing. Go be mad about something that matters in regards to Destiny, like how Contest itself was a joke due to Bungie's "rebalancing" ruining DPS phases and menu-swapping being the only way players even had a chance at it.
-
3 RepliesThey don't have to stream it, you don't have to sit and watch a blank screen.. some people moan about silly things.
-
This contest mode has become a cancer.
-
Who cares? I dgaf about the raids or contest, but as I understand it any team can be world's first, it is not required to be on stream. Or am I wrong? If you are watching some streamer and they black out the screen you know you can just stop watching it, right?
-
Lmao.
-
Honestly just stopped watching them when everyone started blacked out their screens. Just takes the fun out of watching it
-
Edited by Lumis: 7/20/2025 10:24:22 AMIt will continue as long as people are stupid enough to sit there and watch a stream with a hidden screen and/or muted audio.
-
If teams didn’t have stream snipers trying to watch other people who may be ahead to give their own squad tips, I wouldn’t think it’d be a thing 🤷🏻♂️
-
12 RepliesI completely agree with you. I am so sick and tired to these loser babies pulling -blam!- e like this. Salt is the worst violator for this. They get their money from people like us giving them views. Let us actually get our money’s worth. The high end community has gotten so toxic.
-
People actually watch the raid?? 🤣🤣
-
6 RepliesAgreed. If they hotswap, it should be instant disallow.
-
Edited by Golden: 7/20/2025 9:15:46 PMSeeing all the blurred buffs and muted audios was hilariously sad 💀 Even the guy who was doing the multiple streams of worlds first, soon as ANY team got into a final damage phase, 7-9 ads would play 😭🙏

Edited by cryptic_king_241: 7/20/2025 5:17:42 PMFrom what I've read if you report their twitch stream to twitch, they'll do something about it since it now breaks their rules. Seems like a common sense thing that if you're not gonna stream anything, shut down the stream.
-
Should be a dq if you stream the content. The way Bungie promotes these guys to “watch the streamers” that rule should be in place. But we know it’ll never happen.
-
Unfortunately if Wrath gets brought back, bungie is gonna ruin it so that it's hard for the raid race and abandon it just like they did with Destiny 2 crota's end.
-
LOL - They hide for ppl no can see and learn the mechs. They are not forced to show the screen. BTW the Teams no have signed a contract, they just normal Stream. Bungie said to X and Y person pls show the Stream from person A, B, C etc... if they want hide and show his community a fu blackscreen, they can. dumb are the ppl who give this -blam!- views and subs XD

Edited by ben: 7/20/2025 11:11:16 PMPeople complain about this every year but thats just how the competition has evolved. Competition is insanely tight these days, the best teams enlist a scout if not multiple to watch streams for any helpful intel, an early breakthrough in a mechanic or a strategy will win you the race, hence the world's first SE team's performance at verity on day 1. If you are a team in the running to win the race and you make a breakthrough all you do by showing your screen is guarantee that every other team will catch up to you within the hour even if they had no idea what to do, just stealing off of your hard work. These guys care infinitely more about the race than the viewer experience. Also, I noticed this year that after WF was done and the race was over, teams stopped censoring their screens which I respect since it salvages the viewer experience somewhat. I obviously dont watch the day 1 streams because what is there to watch, so it means nothing to me. But I respect the competitive integrity and the passion for the race, they get to do this once a year, let them have it. Just dont watch
-
Agree
-
Nah. I don't blame them for blocking their screens. I don't want anyone copying my work and presenting it as their own.
-
They don't have to stream it. Also things they find out in the last boss within an hour or two. Will be stuff that the number 2-5 teamd would get in minutes if they'd stream it. Sad but understandable.
-
I don't think it should disqualify them from winning, but it should definitely demonetise their stream if they aren't streaming anything.
-
Its just like screen watching on the old N64 for goldeneye. Its a competition to see who gets done first. Not a watch me and learn how to do this encounter. So you can't get worlds first. There hiding it from other streamers.
-
Bruh…
-
4 RepliesSo what about people who don’t stream? Are you also upset you can’t see those players too? Complaining about not being able to watch someone play a video game is crazy.
-
3 RepliesLol why when nobody else is at it? Why should they figure out whats going on onky to help others. Nah they are doing the right thing.
-
You sure do have a lot of self entitlement.
