Speed running the first area and restarting after the area boss kill does work. Chest spawns are for sigil shards.
Nothing stupid about it since every area cleared the next one gets tougher ads.

guns do drop from normal... but ya most weapon chest cost the mats and give nothing no adepts/masterworks and ya not touching any of them nets better rewards which is insane to me...
