Should I get into Elden Ring as a casual gamer?

I’ve played Destiny for years on and off, I am not a super active gamer, too much real life stuff to take care of but I’m home from college and have some free time. The Souls games have such a reputation for difficulty but there has been so much positive buzz around Elden Ring that I’ve been thinking about trying it out. Are casual players able to get into and enjoy it?

  • As someone who beat the dlc 5 days in. Got the platinum trophy on PlayStation legit and has around 400 hours within about a year and plays lots of PvP. Elden ring is one a game for history. My dad got to the final boss ages before me and played it lots. But he stopped playing it because he didn’t know where the final boss was and couldn’t be bothered. Later I tried it and explored as a little samurai tarnished. I tried Margit a few times and got shredded so played destiny for a few months. I eventually got back into the game and when destiny was in season of the witch and early season of the wish I would play nothing but Elden ring. I didn’t care about destiny fomo because all I wanted to do was become Elden lord/and the most bada** katana user in the game. I developed my build to vigor dex faith and endurance as I grew as a tarnished and felled more bosses. I loved malenias design and really wanted to beat her while I watched videos of let me solo her. I eventually got there and beat her on my 17th attempt. I later beat the game got everything I could in my first run and started new game+ I sped through all the bosses beat that run got to around level 250 and invested a lot of time beating people in PvP with no armour and one katana. Later on I wanted to platinum trophy the game so I started my 3rd run on a new character. I tried a mage build that time and really liked it beating the whole game from scratch in 23 hours and finally getting all 3 endings. In destiny’s later on months of season of the wish I played the game while waiting for shadow of the erdtree to eventually release. I sped through most of on my NG+ character who was very ready. I did a few quest lines. Ruined some and had a blast in the process. I got to the final boss and died about 90 something times always getting crushed in phase two cursing at the game when I died. But the tears of happiness when I eventually did it were more than beautiful. My dad was so proud of me and after beating it I felt like I could beat any game. I love Elden ring so very much and I totally think you should play it.
