Read the article, he's just masticating sour grapes. Star wars story telling in my view has always been pretty bad, corny young adult sci-fi. The more that they attempted to explain our articulate in the movies, the worse it got. The expended universe was just a playground for scifi fanfics. When Disney came along to build a universe based on that tenuous foundation it was always destined to collapse. Especially given they took the tack of creating a continuation of a story that specifically is aimed at undermining the core themes of the original. They were sawing off the branch they were standing on. It's very convenient they have the excuse to blame this or that hot button issue, but the fundamentals are what they are.
