Bungie does not hate vets, cousins.
It would seem there is some confusion about how Bungie acknowledges “holidays,” particularly national holidays.
National holidays are definitely an “off-topic” subject.
In-game special events are generally centered around astronomical events (natural, seasonal events), or wide-reaching, international and cultural traditions.
If Bungie were to celebrate US Veterans Day, that would be an exclusionary and downright nationalist gesture, because it would not include all veterans, who come from all countries on Earth, not just the USA.
Perhaps something more inclusive could be suggested, instead of claiming the identity of “veterans” for exclusively US Veterans.

87 RepliesYou're not a veteran. Picture this. Bungie takes the 1 and only day of the year to celebrate veterans. In their twab they say one (1) sentence about celebrating all veterans regardless of what country's holiday it is. That's not hard to do. Proceed to celebrate trans people for trans week. But no, that's just too hard for bungie. Saying one sentence about veterans on veterans day is just too much. You would think that veterans day would be the one thing that is, by definition, completely racially inclusive. If you have a country, you have soldiers fighting on behalf of it. Period. And the nationalism bit? Lol. I'm not attracted to (insert any race) women, guess that makes me a nationalist. Oh, and trans week is most definitely not something that's celebrated in the entire world. Not even close.

7 RepliesAlso it's worth mentioning Bungie has literally never done anything in game for Vets. People just chose to get mad this year

4 RepliesYep. I hate when people use me and my ilk for their daily pearl clutching. I honestly hated people making a big deal about my service when I was active duty. But this is just support theatre.

29 Repliesthe outrage came from an angry political level. generally, those on the left are more supportive of lgbt type stuff. the right is less so, and is known for being more supportive of military/ first responders. so it pissed them off, and in turn pissed off the left because they thought that that immediately means that they are some “-blam!-” or something. so when the twab released with said lgbt things, on veterans day, without a mention to the fact it is veterans day, it was met with backlash. any other week and it wouldn’t have met much resistance, if any. bungie has become known to do that kind of thing. and have several times.
