Pretty self-explanatory, that way you increase the loot pool and give a breath of life to the old destinations besides raiding, even if it's not retroactive with already acquired loot, just from here forward, that way there would be more options for gear to use and when the new expansion comes just press the reset button and give the destination loot a new power cap, thus giving replayability and longevity to big expansion destinations.

And while your at it Bungie, why don't you remove all the resources from Banshee and Spider that we Can No Longer Get!. Or are you leaving those in on purpose to waste even more players time?
-
I propose an offer. Sunsetting stays for everything but the cap will be 1,000,000 power level so it will never get sunset. Bungie gets what they want and we get what we want.
-
Or just get rid of sunsetting. You know...why stop there?
-
6 RepliesI'm all up for it. Thing is at that point sunsetting would be for naught. So just remove it. Easy.

1 ReplyWe hear you and we’re listening. In light of recent feedback about gear from the moon and dreaming city we have decided the best path forward is to remove both the moon and the dreaming city from the game and replace them with all new content. 7 brand new, meme inspired eververse emotes! Can’t wait to see you all in the tower!

2 RepliesGod yes, I really like the dreaming city titan armor.

4 RepliesAny loot that drops should be usable for a year if they want to keep the crappy sunsetting system they have. Invalidating gear was bad enough but having unviable gear dropping at all is just stupid. There’s already such a lack of loot, why limit it further with unusable junk?
-
1 ReplyThe funniest part is some new players are actually paying for this part of the game now, not knowing it’s totally irrelevant.
-
2 RepliesI think it’s hilarious that Nightmare hunts award sunset gear and Dreambane armor made SPECIFICALLY for them is useless in them... How they sunset everything needed for nightmare hunts and the rewards from them but increased its minimum light level requirement?

If I can have fully customisable mods on my legs, and make them look like legs from season 2, why not just let me have the legs from season 2 at a higher light. Sunsetting works in other games where there are seasonal perks that are useful in that season, but the difficulty of those activities do not increase with a new season. For bungie to bump nightmare hunts up in light level, but not allow nightmare armour to be bumped up too, there's little point in playing nightmare hunts. They should leave nightmare hunts at the level requirements of the season they came in, that way the gear is always relevant to the associated activity. Thats how it works in other games, they make you to use the newest highest gear for the newest highest activities because that newest highest stuff has perks relevant to the newest highest activity, but you can happily equip last seasons armour and go do last seasons activity. What bungie are doing is saying we can't wear last seasons gear to do last seasons activity, and then making us farm for a new piece of gear, that can have the exact same perks as last seasons armour and be styled with transmog to look exactly like last seasons armour, but can have a slightly higher upper power cap. What bungie are calling sunsetting, isn't sunsetting. And thats why its an issue with so many people. Personally, I'll likely just get new armour and get on with it each season, farming things isn't that time consuming really, and they'll last a few seasons yet. Think people should stop hating sunsetting and instead hate bungies incompetence and mistaken definitions

This needs to happen. There is literally NO REASON to go to the Dreaming City or the Moon. They don't have weekly powerful challenges, all the gear has been masterworked. The only reason I can think to go to either of these is Blind Well for fun, and for bounty kills.
-
There is no reason all loot dropping in game is not usable for the next 2 seasons at least. Wtf is the point of dropping gear ALREADY out of date????
-
Only if they make it exclusive for their prospective dungeon since they could use a loot pool.
-
I think they should update them and make them exclusives for the shattered throne and pit of heresy.
-
17 RepliesOr just ditch sunsetting altogether. It's pointless.
-
Id agree, anything still obtainable in game shouldnt be sunset. RIP to new lights who buy those expansions...
-
15 RepliesNo. Because that opens up the can of worms as to why those loot pools get two years before they get sunset, while everything else only gets a year.

Edited by MindExergy: 12/14/2020 5:40:10 PMAll the shadowkeep loot sucks and is hideous. Dreaming city loot does need to updated especially with perks. Why have two good dungeons especially the shattered throne not reward anything? Like those are two big pieces of content no one plays cause you don’t get anything. My guess is they want everyone to grind Europa and when the season is dead they’ll add em back to reward pinnacle gear.
-
Edited by ChaseyCakes: 12/14/2020 3:30:45 PMMatter as well for all destinations armor and weapons that have random rolls should have an updated power cap
-
As a pinnacle level top tier professional gamer with a high level gamestyle I fervently agree.
PS I’m a wayfarer and D1 pre alpha vet
-
Bungie: Nope, Here at Bungie we’re allergic to Loot...
-
Very compelling argument! I can see this being read by Bungie AND being put into the game because of you.
-
YEAH I ACTUALLY WANT THE SAME THING
-
Or how about make them none sunset
-
How about make the cap 5260 ,or get rid of sunsetting all together ,because right now it’s a huge failure
-
3 RepliesThey should've simply sunsetted only the gear available from vaulted content. The fact that Forsaken and Shadowkeep in particular are still paid content but much of said content is now useless is a massive disservice to customers, especially newer ones.
